May 24, 20214 yr The process he is talking about seems to be ROPMA. There are other ways in the guard much shorter but not always available.

As Guardian said, it sounds like Chida is referring to ROPMA. Some bases lean on ROPMA more than others. Unless someone doesn't do PME, we rarely ever have to promote guys via ROPMA, while other bases/states seem to use it almost exclusively...even for O-4, which is crazy to me.
