nrodgsxr Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Coincidentally, we had a Holloman RPA must-fill come out today. what base?
MooseDriver1 Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Coincidentally, we had a Holloman RPA must-fill come out today. No retainability with only 1 year of ADSC left. AFPC already played that game with me when giving me a non-vol non-flying assignment with only 6 months to go before I could 7-day opt. But, I see your point.
Rusty Pipes Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) Hey Liquid... make sure to let your boss know that he has essentially lost the trust of his entire pilot force in less than a week! So they trick all of the 15-19 yr guys by telling them they are eligible for TERA and then rejecting all of their retirement applications saying they are no longer eligible after they are "confirmed" to be eligible and then apply for retirement (because the incompetent moron shoes at AFPC don't even know their own rules). Then they tell another whole group of pilots that they are eligible for VSP and then an hour prior to the application window opening (after everyone has obviously shown their cards to their boss) they change the criteria essentially making all pilots ineligible for VSP. This must be that vector everyone has been looking for... a vector directly to Sheppard Air and All ATPs! How does that saying go again? Fool me once, shame on you... Can you say, "Stop Loss" boys and girls??? Edited February 6, 2014 by Rusty Pipes
AnimalMother Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Wow. I am at a total loss for words here. This has turned out more buffoonerous than I had ever even imagined it could. Unbelievable. AFPC, you guys really outdid yourselves on this one. Good thing I never planned on it working out for me anyway. But, whatevs, already got the ATP taken care of on the AF's dime. There's not an assignment out there that will convince me to stick around for one second longer than I have to. Year and a half to go... 3
pcola Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 True. I predict this will end up exactly like the last round, with the exception that more people will be more wary of showing their cards. I've snipped the most important parts from the VSP Q&A. The writing is on the wall…just like last time, they will let anyone apply, but then they will deny 99% of the pilots. Thus, no RIF boards will be cancelled, because the only Officers that want out are the ones they need the most... Allow me to quote myself here. Not even the slightest bit surprised that A1 has fooked this all to hell. Shame on all of you that were fooled twice.
chizz Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 (edited) do not go to ALL ATPs, waste of time and $$$ OH an wouldnt you know it, the website is crashing!!!! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Edited February 10, 2014 by chizz
lossofclocklossofdata Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Looks like 11M was removed from the FY14 Palace Chase exclusion list in the new PSDM 13-65. Does anyone have the old copy handy where 11M was excluded. These notes make more sense now. Why pay someone when you can put them back on the bench. I'm tired, so may be seeing shit. NOTE 2: The Air Force Reserve is currently 500 pilots and 160 CSOs short with numerous operational vacancies in C-130 and KC-135 aircraft. If unable to locate the local ISR, call 1-800- 257-1212 or navigate to https://afreserve.com. NOTE3: The Air National Guard currently has numerous pilot positions available as well as Operations/Liaison positions. Officers should contact their local In-Service Recruiter, call 1-800- TOGOANG, or navigate to https://GOANG.com/Careers. 1
tunes Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 well that was a nightmare getting that submitted....so many error messages....
ellsworb Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Remember fellas, Integrity first and all that.
FLY6584 Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Just submitted my application even though it's a pipe dream.
PointBreak Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Glad AFPC waited until the 11th hour to ensure all the VSP stragglers could officially notify their commanders to fulfill the counseling requirement. F&@k it. Submitting anyway.
tunes Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 you got through? yep, got through at 12:04:10the good news though is 11M and 11R are both eligible for the 1:1 Palace Chase now.
Fifty-six & Two Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Applied as well even though I have a UPT ADSC. Figured if they are going to waste our time with this BS, I can waste theirs.
lossofclocklossofdata Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I get nothing when I select "voluntary separation"?
chizz Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 i keep getting Error logging into PPA Voluntary Separation and SqlTransaction has completed, anyone else?
tunes Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Yeah I just kept going back and hitting the button again until it went through
FLY6584 Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 If you ever told me back when I originally signed up that years down the road I'd be sitting here glued to my computer in the middle of the night submitting an application to get out of my job as a pilot in the Air Force I would have told you that you were full of $hit. Why do I feel so let down and unfullfilled that the Air Force wasn't what I thought it was going to be? It's such a shame. 5
lossofclocklossofdata Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 vMPF self service actions, voluntary separation right?
Vprdrvr69 Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Ahhhh, the shitshow unfolds. Funny thing is I have spent so much time ranting about how this Force Management measure would certainly rise to the same level of comical ineptitude as the last. Too bad I have to reassure young guys in the squadron not to worry about a RIF because I have seen this debacle unfold before. Every older dude I know is reading the fine print trying to figure out how to be eligible and GTF out! AFPC, you never fail to amaze me. Why have we not completely eliminated AFPC? I can take a civilian into combat zones but I have a ing clown-show shoe clerk wearing a uniform, sitting in a cubicle devising these RIF debacles every other year. Makes sense- why can't we outsource AFPC to a civilian HR company? They really couldn't do any ing worse. you AFPC. The vMPF webpage is running about as well as HealthCare.gov . I can't get very far without error messages blocking my way to submitting a separation app. I can always hope that tomorrows PSDM will make me eligible. Motherfukkers! Chang, once again great job. Please jump back in anytime with your words of wisdom and inspiration. Liquid, perhaps you couldn't understand why we are so jaded and have so little trust left in our leaders. Tell me you are taking notes and viewing this colossal mess from the same vantage point that we are. 2
chizz Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 now i cant get the damn calendar to pull down to select a date, i am going to need two resiliency briefings by the time i am done with this shit
chim richalds Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 If one more dipshit says "you know they're not letting you out" I might go postal. I hate that they're right.
