(Added-AFSOC) Aircrew members assigned to HQ AFSOC are not authorized to wear the neck scarf. For aircrew members below HQ level, wear of the neck scarf is optional and is at the discretion of the wing/group commander. If a unit is authorized to wear the neck scarf, all aircrew members assigned to that unit will wear the scarf. Design and color of the neck scarf will be determined by the unit commander.
