September 27, 200916 yr Probably the most valid point. Yeah, it's a 40-50 minute commute, but you only do it 7-8 days a month. Another thing to consider when deciding is leadership. You'd have to ask people about personal experiences, so it'd require more research, but it's definitely something to consider. On the same token, you're not enjoying your house in a 'nice' area when you're on trips either. If you have a family - totally different story, though.
July 19, 201213 yr Thread revival -- this is the closest one I could find that's applicable. Do any McChord folks or Seattle residents have recommendations on places to live in Seattle? I'll be heading up there shortly for a PCS, but I will be working at a GSU in Kent. I'm single so I was thinking about living downtown and making the commute, but I was wondering if there might be any other areas of the city also worth looking at.
July 20, 201213 yr Last time I was in downtown Seattle (Mar 2012) the bums had taken over the city. Of course, you'll be able to see that once you start looking around. I'm not kidding either. I couldn't walk more than 2 steps without a crack head begging for change. They were pretty agressive, too. Reminded me of this ICP song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jp65NrfPb6s Edited July 20, 201213 yr by Chida

Look in Bell Town and Lower Queen Anne. Also Bellevue is awesome. Higher class chicks.
