Based on the real estate market here, you should have NO problem getting an awesome pad cheap.

Probably 25-30% of ALL houses in this area are vacant.

If you see something you like, ask to rent it even if its just a "for sale" sign posted.

Anyone trying to sell will probably rent since nothing is moving.
