  1. That is not a U-2G. That is a U-2R, which is much larger... the same airframe being flown today. The U-2G was a modified U-2C model. You are correct that the U-2G flew a couple of operational sorties, watching the French set of nukes in the Pacific. The U-2R never flew operationally off of the carrier.

I think we should bring this program back!

  2. This is completely false. AMR does all of their maintenance at either Tulsa or Ft Worth. In fact, they are one of the few majors that still does it domestically. Many would argue that this helped them down the road to bankruptcy. And it's not Delta's maintenance practices that are in the news right now, is it? That's a real sad story you wrote though, about how the golden days of the superior American style are gone. Stupid facts, always getting in the way.

AMR just handed out 3000 pink slips in Tulsa, where do you think that work is headed (hint: it's south of the Rio G.)

  3. No. As has been discussed all over this board, TACC is attempting to gnat's ass everyone's fuel. One good way to do that is to figure out when you're going to stop climbing and start descending. Those big power changes play a pretty big role in fuel planning. C-5, for example, will burn about 30k lbs in the first hour and <15k in the last hour. If they don't want you carrying extra gas, then they need to figure out exactly how much you need within a few thousand pounds and not 10k+. They call that inefficient.

A few diverts for gas will stop that nonsense.

  4. No it's not; actually one of the easiest answers ever. The same thing that keeps me from going around killing people with my CCW is the same thing that keeps me from randomly doing hit and runs with my truck, the same thing that keeps me from turning my propane tank into a bomb, the same thing that keeps me from dropping live bombs on a city instead of going out to the range, the same thing that keeps me from shooting down civilian airliners when doing Noble Eagle caps. Firearms are tools and a fundamental right. Just like freedom of speech, some use it for good, some evil, and most don't use it at all. The fact that skinheads advocate ethnic cleansing does not mean free speech should be revoked. The solution to people abusing freedom of speech is more speech, not less. The same is true of firearms.

Post of the year on the subject.

  5. http://www.foxnews.c...intcmp=features

"An industry forecast that nearly half a million new airline pilots will be needed worldwide over the next 20 years as airlines expand their fleets...The forecast includes 69,000 new pilots in the North America, mostly in the U.S. The greatest growth will be in the Asia-Pacific region, where an estimated 185,600 new pilots will be needed."

Yawn. The impending pilot shortage that's been looming for 35 years and never come to fruition.

  6. Who uses whiz wheels anymore? And why would you want one on your wrist?

I use mine all the time, and not just in the cockpit. Hopping from port to port it's great for figuring out currency exchange rates in a few seconds.

  7. OK, so you survived one day. Try a four month deployment without ever wearing it, and then let's hear back from you, SNAP. Get your head back in the books, and quit trying to impress everyone.

    Four months, salty.

Holly Shit, last time I saw the big font was when Toro told that O-6 SecOps Fighter pilot to shove a red hot poker up his ass sidways, or was it shove a red hot poker up a bulls ass sidways then shove the bull up your ass. Either way he was pissed.

    Link please?!?

  8. Tactical blueberries.

The correct term is "Aquaflage." A uniform that's been out for several years that I still don't own. :moon:

Fairly certain the US Navy has the market cornered on that one.

Fear not, Afghanistans finest internet security ninja's have blocked your image. I can't see it, thus the world is safer and we're closer to winning the war.

  9. She's a beach 5, boat 7 maybe an 8 at best. Seen better talent at the DEL. With the lights on. Before my 3 beers.

Butters I was agreeing with the previous statement of "being hot" and "I'd hit that" don't always coincide. I stand by my previous assertion that this fighter pilot would have to be face down, butt up drunk out of my skull in a gutter, my wife would have to have cut me off years prior, and this chick would have to be the only one for miles. Don't get me wrong, I've done some down right horrid things in my day, and she'd be a long looooooong way from the worst of them, but then again that's where we get our standards from don't we?

Discus, you're trying like to hell to validate a poor decision.

You guys either need to set your sights higher, or work on your own personal game, the propensity for settling around here is dissapointing.*

*your lack of standards are understandable, and the previous statement doesn't apply if you're in a garden training spot lacking women such as Meridian, Columbus, Del Rio, Enid, etc.
