From what they told us in RPP, the LOR should be coming from someone that has firsthand experience of your character and leadership. I understood this as it could be anyone in your CoC or someone who you worked closely with. My LOR from an O-6 I worked with had a lot of statistics of things I've done for my career field and the wing but I'm worried it sounds too robotic or just not personal enough if that makes sense? Like it sounds genuine but not heartfelt? I honestly am not sure what the board is looking for but my buddy who got picked up last year told me to avoid general, broad statements (fluff) for both my LOR and rater comments.

You have a pretty good chance I would say! Your scores are great and looks like you did improve on leadership growth which sounds like what the board wants to see. The waiting is the worst.. I’ve been trying to stay focused on work and other things but I catch myself over analysing my entire package sometimes, wondering if there was something I could’ve done better.

Nah they came from Ramstein I believe. This was a few years ago too

Think the PSDM mentioned something about getting an extension to update flight hours if you’re deployed? Or something like that. In terms of strats, 2/2 is significantly different from getting 18/18 for example so I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I got a buddy who was 3/3 out of his wing and all 3 of them got a rated slot. Nice that you got your foot in the door at least!

That’s crazy they didn’t tell y’all your strats or if you even made it out of the wing. And yeah, my thoughts exactly. Esp since the higher numbers are already rated folks going for pilot. I imagine those rated squadrons will have a more similar rack and stack compared to the board than non-rated.

Does anyone know how heavy the senior rater stratifications weigh? I felt pretty confident in my package until our Wg/CC strated all of us that applied. I was ranked pretty low and after talking with some of the other guys, I noticed he didn’t really change any of the comments we drafted for him so I felt maybe he didn’t look over our packages thoroughly. Thinking of asking for feedback on how to earn a higher strat if I don’t get picked up this board, since I’m not sure what his ranking criteria is. Not sure if my scores, LOR, or accomplishments will help offset a low strat but I’m hoping it’s a whole person concept and this one data point won’t have too much effect.
