2026 ACTIVE DUTY UFT BOARD
Still no word since the email from 7 Nov. Without anything loaded in MilPDS my FSS is getting ansy--I was supposed to PCS at the end of November but my understanding of the PSDM is that all pending assignments are to be cancelled. Nothing short of laying siege to my apartment will get me to move.

They double check everything like @Justwanttofly said, usually takes about 2-3 full days. Eyes are the big thing. If you wear glasses follow their instructions about wearing them to a T. Iirc about 30% of attendees (including AFROTC and Guard/Reserve) pop something, with 20-25% being waiverable. So only 5-10% of everyone going to MFS gets DQ'd, presumably a lower percentage for those with FC1 in hand.

What I know: AFPC/DPMO personnel working UFT packages were furloughed two days after the board finalized their list. So while they had a little time to start moving packages forward, they had not yet gotten to coordinating with A1, assignments teams, etc. before the shutdown. Uniformed personnel at AFPC should still be <working> but my understanding is the UFT team is entirely civilians. 😞 Speculation: they will probably push faster once the govt reopens, but only so much can be done in so long. The time AFPC can "flex" their standard timeline to accelerate processing results is the difference between the standard release date and a delayed release that still arrives earlier than the lag duration of the shutdown. But this year the selection process timeline was shortened (down to 3 months instead of 3.5 months), so they may already be on a condensed timeline and therefore not have much ability to accelerate release of results further. At least this pretty much guarantees nobody will be getting an RNLTD during the holidays.

Does anyone know/can corroborate the exemption criteria for IPT? This document from Columbus UPT states IPT earns the student an FAA single-engine private pilot license, instrument rating, and multi-engine [presumably private pilot, not commercial], but it doesn't say if you come in with those ratings you'll be exempt from IPT. I've heard of many cases when IFT was the standard that if you were selected for UPT through whatever selection process and already had a single-engine PPL when you arrived on station, you would be exempt from IFT, but I haven't heard confirmation of a similar practice for IPT and PP AMEL IR.
