Anyone hear an outright no or "thanks but no thanks" from Ft. Worth?

I'm referring to the sponsored board - I have my FC1 completed and am sponsored, but they announced at the March board that selections will be minimal and they will be rolling all the non-selects to the May board. I think they did it to control flow into the UPT pipeline because things are backed up...
Ok right on. To confirm I called my reserve recruiter an hour ago as well. He claims all UPT slots for FY20 for the Reserve are allocated so all boards at this point are for slots in FY21 (10/1/2020 onward). Obviously everything you hear from a recruiter should be taken with a grain of salt.

Anyone heard from their active duty LO recruiters? Seems everything is on hold but my Reserve recruiter (seperate process) is completely in the dark and is just as clueless as to when things will open up again and resume processing applicants.

I hope you're right about this. The thing that I know is that the UPT pipeline is backed up...they cancelled the Jan board and only selected 15 people at the March board - and rolled all the non-selects to the May board. I'm one of the people who were rolled to the next board, so I wouldn't say there will be no competition, because some people have been waiting for a board for awhile.
Are you referring to the unsponsored Reserve board correct? Pretty sure if you have a sponsorship the "board" is just a formality assuming you are medically qualified.

@tarheelaviator just curious, was the 112th FS email sent to a particular list or something? I didn't get that email...wondering if it spells bad news for me.
It doesn't look like it was a list and actually looks like they manually put 80 or so emails in the message. I'd call them or reach out to the POC and see if they just missed you. Everyone's life has been turned upside down right now so pretty easy to imagine a simple mistake was made.

Looks like Fresno's bogidope posting was taken down. Can anyone confirm that they are delaying UPT applications?
I'll call at some point again this week but what I've heard is CA ANG is delayed until a later date until this situation returns to "normal." Keep in mind everything is shut down. No non-DoD visitors to any bases right now, MEPS appears to be closed, active duty and AF reserve recruiters (at least the ones I've been working with) are in a holding pattern, even the USAF recruits can't ship to BMT right now. This sucks for everyone but nothing we can really do. Just keep yourselves in shape, healthy, and squeeze some hours in if your local GA airport is still functioning.

I have an app for Toledo as well...maybe skype interviews?
Quick update everyone.
1. The 112th FS just sent out an email saying they are delaying a month or two due to the Covid outbreak.
2. I spoke briefly with a pilot at the 121st in DC. They are in the same boat and pushing it back but he said he was pretty certain they are not cancelling it so nothing to do but hurry up and wait for now.

Looks like Fresno boards (according to 144FW website) are suspended/postponed/canceled. Not sure which one... As of today:
I'm sure they'll just push it back till the quarantine nonsense subsides. Anyone heard from Ft. Worth/457th? Everyone stay safe out there.

Any word on Fort Worth Vipers?
Also an update for Selfridge. The most recent thing I’ve been told is that we’re doing a meet n’ greet during our April drill, and a board in May. Still unknown what contents are desired in an application but PM me and I can give you the hiring POC’s UPT e-mail
Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network mobile appI have a feeling that could delayed given current events. NOLA canceled their meet and greet this weekend and Tulsa delayed their interviews for those who got one. Haven't heard anything from the 457th either unfortunately.

Yeah Williams is in trouble. Haas I'm not sure has the financial cushion to survive a lost season either.

Ok, this Wuhan Flu/SARS II The Revenge/Walking Dead escaped virus sh!t is getting serious.
The Chinese have delayed/cancelled their F1 race in April.
How else am I going to see how the pretty people blow (no sts) hundreds of millions of dollars/yuan in a communist country?
Well the Australian GP got canceled too. How long till this whole season gets blown up?

122nd FS just cancelled squadron visits for this upcoming weekend due to coronavirus concerns. I wonder if this is affecting decisions for other upcoming visits/boards (i.e. ft worth, DC). I'm guessing probably yes.
DC's 121st FS wasn't having formal visits anyway and has done Skype first round interviews in the past. Anyone else hear from Tulsa yet? I have a feeling alot of places are going to delay boards/decisions due to the Wuhan Virus.

The Navy is having a major Strike Fighter shortage as well. They recently followed the Air Force in raising their age limit (to 32 now) and the application process is much faster (have heard of guys showing up at Navy OCS with an aviation contract within 6 months of talking to a recruiter). The active duty recruiters for the Navy or Marine Corps actually get things done whereas the active duty AF recruiters it is like pulling teeth. Downside is there is no Reserve option for off the street people. You have to fill your active duty service commitment in the fleet before being eligible to transfer to an aviation reserve squadron. I've had my feet in both processes so feel free to DM if you have any detailed questions.

Any word on Tulsa sending out invites yet?
They were supposed to this weekend. Kind of surprised didn't at least get the usual "thanks for trying" email yet.

Did these people have apps that were obviously easy to reject or were they middle of the pack apps?
At least one had a PCSM below the threshold they wanted but I don't know about the other person.

This seems to imply invites for a meet and greet have gone out already, am I reading too much into this statement?
Any others confirm/deny invites have been sent for a meet and greet with the 457th?Yeah anyone heard back from the 457th? A few people I've talked to heard outright "no" but I haven't heard anything since submitting a couple weeks back.

Thanks! Is this gonna be your fist one or are you reapplying?
The next reserve board is due April 31st. If I haven't found a sponsorship by then the deadline for the AD board is far enough into the summer I can probably apply for both. That is the plan at least right now.

Not sure what the exact regs are but make sure you have doctors (ideally someone in Army flight medicine) who can write reports that state it is:
1. Fully healed with no complications
2. No recurrent pain and no limitations to your range of motion or physical activity.

FYI for folks who are considering signing their life away to AD. Board due date should be July. Decisions released September.

So is Oklahoma supposed to send out invites this weekend?
Possibly but I heard it will more likely be the weekend of March 6-8th since that's their first UTA since early February.

I believe he's talking about the 131st Fighter Squadron (Massachusetts Air National Guard) out of Westfield.

Do any of you guys have a good POC for a recruiter to help with an unsponsored board application? The ones local to me either never return calls or are disinterested when I tell them I'm in the Army. Cheers

Hate to admit it but you are right. We always hear the advice "just keep going and you'll get picked up! It took me 50 fighter interviews with 30 alternates before I got picked up, you can do it too!" That's not realistic for everyone and people need to realize that.
Perhaps but if you have that attitude you are going to hurt your chances of getting what you want.
Having a "Plan B" Can Hurt Your Chances of Success
It's a similar philosophy that SOF hopefuls have that go through BUDS, Q-Course, RASP, etc. The one's that make it have an attitude of, "I'd rather die, drown, freeze to death, or break my leg than fail this evolution." Burn the boats. If you want a combat aviation mission what about the AF active duty route? Navy/USMC aviation? There is more than one way to get what you want.
Upcoming Boards

I spoke with a pilot friend at DC. The board isn't canceled but they haven't decided when to hold it. Kind of in a holding pattern until they get more guidance on the Covid-19 situation.
