Airman dies during survival training in Pensacola Bay
Those of us that were in that class with Maj Knowlan were basically ordered not to talk about the circumstances of the accident, so I doubt you'll hear anything about the boat until the accident investigation report is released (as quietly and late as the press release of his death was). All I can say is that it's a f*cking tragedy. I knew him very little -- only from those 3 days of training -- but he was an awesome dude. His wife and two sons were with him in Pensacola. There is an obituary here which gives info about the Memorial Fund: https://www.semissour...ry/1904453.html

F-22 Raptor info
In the Track Assignments thread, someone mentioned the rumor that F-22s have the lowest retention rate in the AF. Does anyone actually know if this is true or not? If so, why would dudes be wanting to get out of the 22? I don't buy that everyone is afraid of hypoxia. Is it a quality of life thing?

Track Selects and Assignment Nights
Affirm on the F-22. It was the first plane dropped. Also my count was 3xF16 and 4xF15E. There were 16 assignables with 11 flighters, plus 2xMC-12, 2xFaip and the ac-130. No matter the numbers, kick-ass drop for sure.

U-28/PC-12/NSA
This thread seems to suggest all U-28s are at Hurlburt, but I've heard just from word of mouth that either that is no longer true, or shortly will not be true. Can anyone clarify this situation for me? Specifically, I'm wondering where the studs dropping U-28s out of UPT are ending up.

The Mother of all CGOCs
FWIW, I have learned more flying with that Captain than from any other IP. He's the best in the squadron as far as I'm concerned. I had no idea he was in the CGOC, so I guess he keeps a pretty low profile in the local "chapter" or whatever they call it.

Navy LT sends a .PPT to her new 3-star commander...hilarious and sad
I worked as a professional engineer for several years. I saw emails and powerpoints come across my desk all the time from guys who were qualified to build the world's most advanced space systems that -- except for the technical jargon -- were written at around a 6th or 7th grade level.

Naltroxene
Is there any precedent for flyers taking Naltrexone? AFI 148-123 gets no hits.

Information on Flying Class 1(FC1)/MFS at Brooks
Has MFS fully moved to Wright-Patt or are they still doing it at Brooks?

Brooks to Wright-Patterson Conversion
I'm at OTS right now and just got my assignment rip. It's showing MFS at Brooks on Apr 20th. Anyone know how I should interpret this? Will I actually be going to TX for MFS or is this an error that will actually be Wright-Patt?

NAS Pensacola information
Anyone got any more recent info about the base housing situation for AF UPT types? Just got my orders to Whiting and have mixed emotions about it. I'm curious what the living situation will be like.
