Heard from the grapevine from a friend that Fort Wayne already sent interview invites. Not sure about rejections though haven't gotten one yet.

Me and some others have already received rejections from Fort Wayne, so I know at least some have gone out.

I called them last week and they said that they would call/email those who got selected. It has been a week and a half since Feb. 15. I'm pretty certain they already made the call to those who got selected, especially that their interview is in 5 days.

Yeah, that's probably a more likely situation. Well, if that is the case, best of luck to everyone interviewing. My thought process was that typically, it becomes a topic of conversation once invitations are sent out, and the relative silence about it was odd.

But like I said, due to how close it is, they're probably already out.

Let's make a list of fighter units that are currently hiring. Do any of these units allow visiting before turning in the application? And does anyone know if they only hire from within? How many people do they plan on hiring this year? And lastly do you have to visit to get an interview?

    4. Vermont
    5. South Carolina

  5. As someone that was previously in the PLC program, I can tell you that getting an air slot is incredibly easy. You take the Navy/USMC version of the TBAS, and if you score high enough, you're slotted as "air." The hard part becomes getting the actual board, but it's no harder than qualifying for AFROTC -- good gpa, lots of PT, etc. I'm not a military member, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but I know from hanging around these forums that the USMC does not use the same drop night logic that the AF does. Sometimes there's a plethora of fighters, sometimes there's none. Maybe evaluate how okay you are with fixed wing?

Wanting to talk about the new upcoming fighter boards. What info do we have for the 5 fighter boards currently up on Bogidope? Oregon, Massachusetts, Indiana, Vermont, New Jersey.

    1. Which bases are allowing visits/rushing?
    2. Anyone know how many people each unit is hiring?
    3. Any of these units only hires from within?

    Any other info to add?

Indiana: is not allowing visits due to ops tempo

New Orleans: hires 3 people per board

Will keep everyone updated on whatever comes my way

Based on your comment in the other thread, what answer were they looking for on 5 lol, that you'd chain yourself to the guard gate until they gave you a slot?

Lol well, I got to ask them that in the debrief!

Apparently, the answer was more about reflecting that this is my life, and that I’d do everything I could to become a Viper pilot somewhere. They said that I didn’t exude the qualities of a fighter pilot, I don’t wanna run out and jump in the jet. So, without being bitter, it became evident that the answer is making it crystal clear that you only want one thing in life, which is to be a fighter pilot.

  8. What I can remember from Tulsa at the moment

In 30-90 seconds, tell me about yourself

Mental math question varied from person to person, mostly multiplication and division

    Identify: F-15, F-16, F-18, T-38, T-6, SU-27, U-2, B-1, Robin Olds

Why you and not the other guys?

What will you do if we don't hire you?

Where are you in 10 years?

Video: you just killed 7 people. How do you feel?

How will you interact with the enlisted?

How can you improve interactions with the enlisted?

I see a lot of knowledge on your resume; teach me something

We talked to the person who hates you the most/likes you the least. What would they say, and why?

Would you rather fight a horse sized duck, or 100 duck sized horses?

Will edit if I remember more

What’s wrong with talking about the airlines, if I may ask?

Objectively, nothing. But as I have quickly learned, fighters want you to literally be ready to kill someone to be a fighter guy, so saying anything other than “fighters” is wrong. I didn’t say I’d do airlines after I got there, I said if I didn’t get this board I’d end up working at the regionals while I continued applying, but in the interview debrief they said that was the kiss of death because it showed I wasn’t committed and didn’t exude the fighter mentality.

    Just now, BadGuySplash said:

Oklahoma you have to live near the base, pretty sure minimal to none of the pilots have other jobs other than full time AGR, so they don't really want to hear about being part-time with airline, mostly because none of them do it and they want 100% committed guy in their squadron. This mostly pertains to OK though.

Negative. Over half their pilots are airline guys. It was a “fighter guy” mentality issue, not a reality issue.
