  1. Correct, no longer a guarantee. Still beats faip’ing imo, but they made the decision to stop providing the Raptor follow on months before these bros dropped in UPT and neglected to funnel that info appropriately. These bros all thought they were going raptors until early this year...
  2. A former 135 guy is about to go through the 22 b course here at Tyndall. As far as I know, he did 38 White jets last assignment...so he went straight to IFF
  3. I doubt it reverts back to low fighter drops. As far as I'm aware, only 16s are backed up.
  4. At Columbus an IFF class starts every month, I assume it's the same for Randolph and Sheppard. They only guys I know who waited more than a month to start IFF had pretty far out B course dates.
  5. Pretty much...yeah it sucks. It has nothing to do with how capable a stud is. There's only a finite number of spots based on needs of USAF and how many the sqdrn can handle. Last class, that was 2AD. Ten classes ago, it was 6AD. Ten classes from now it'll be another random number.
  6. Yes, only 2 AD studs got 38s. We went through an extended period of bad wx and sub par maintenance. That combined with higher numbers of 38 studs has led to the pipeline getting backed up.
  7. Everyone I know who has dropped a 146 or 28 typically had them pretty high on their list.
  8. That student was slotted to go to Vance well before any delays had begun to affect timeline.
  9. All the current 38 classes at CBM were washed back starting with 17-08. 08 was split, 4 staying in the class and 4 were washed back. The next classes were all washed back. 17-14 already had 3 or 4 38s from 17-13 washbacks.
  10. CBM 17-06 38s: 1 x F22 TY 1 x F15E SJ 1 x A10 DM 1 x T6 Faip 3 x F16 to Kelly Showed up late and didn't catch the whole T1 side. I'll update as I hear it AC130 KC10 Mcguire C17 McChord T1 FAIP T6 FAIP C146 Duke KC135 BHM
  11. 3-4 AD was pretty standard before FY17. Classes in 17 have all ranged from 5 to 8 (plus the occasional Shepard slot) depending on the number of internationals.
  12. The 38 Squadron here at Columbus is stretched pretty thin right now. Maintenance has been sub par at best, combined with large classes...we're flying 7 days a week and still barely keeping to the timeline. Baby classes are going 20+ days (after hitting the flt line) without flying so senior classes can finish. Wouldn't be surprised to see classes tracking ~4 for a few months.

  16. CBM 17-02 Oprah's F16 giveaway continues... 38s: 4 F16s 1 F15c 1 T6 Faip T1 from what I can remember: A few 130s C5 to Travis MC130 C-145 ( or 6?) to Duke A few 135s E3

  18. Because at Shepard they don't compete for their Phase III assignment like the rest of the bases. Keeping the T6 side ensures accountability, otherwise you've got a recipe to breed a stud who slacks off in T6s because "it doesn't count anyway." Poor performers at Shepard should be punished, not rewarded....or just make em earn it like the rest of us.
  19. Really curious to know how that'll all work come drop night with the SUPT transfers. Do they add a modifier to their T6 scores or just stratify them based on their 38 performance compared to the ENJJPT guys? Throwing out the T6 side for the whole class seems like a slap in the face to the studs who did well early on.
  20. It's a pendulum dude, always has been. A year ago 3-4 AD 38s was standard here at Columbus. Starting with 17-01 that number jumped to 5-7 per class plus the Shepard gig for some classes.
  21. The latest T-1 FAIP drop sheet here at Columbus included a B1 and a B52
  22. CBM 16-15 38s: F15C F15E F16 T38 FAIP T1s (what I remember at least): CV22 E3 Several C17s and 135s 130J MC130
