  1. I got picked up a month before graduation. I had a letter from my counselor saying I was on track to graduate by a certain date and it was put in the application and I got accepted. I think the rule is you have to be no more than 6 months away from graduating. I HIGHLY recommend going unsponsored. It allows other units to see your application package and come to you with offers for interviews and, you never know when there will be another board. So get in ASAP.
  2. Anyone know what day we are supposed to check in for AMS 15-03? Screwed up all the dates after integrating with OTS.
  3. 15-03 will be the first class with Active Duty AF and Reservists mixed in. Ill see you all there.
  4. I heard now that since OTS eliminated the upper/lower class system it is now more similar to AMS. Because of this, the Reg Air Force and Reserve are considering AMS a legit source for training active and reserve guys. Anyone else hear about this?
  5. No. I got approved by the board in June and won't go for my FC1 until late Septmber also. You just need it before you can swear in and get OTS/UPT dates.
  6. I was recently hired by a KC-135 reserve unit and I was looking to see if there was any updates on ops tempo anyone would like to add considering the draw down in the 2 wars and all that is currently happening in the world. What are the deployment opportunities currently available and how many hours are typically available to those looking to bum? Also what is the outlook with respect to the future of the aircraft and the KC-46? Thanks in advance. Edit: grammarz
  7. Ok I'll definitely cut out the recruiter and just apply wherever is available. Thanks for all the info!
  8. I am currently applying to Air Force Reserve units through a recruiter and I was also planning on sending out applications to ANG units as well. My recruiter informed me that doing so would DQ me from the Reserve for 1 year since if I wasn't picked up, it would be considered being rejected for commissioning. I have heard of others doing this before. Does anyone know if you can apply to both at the same time?
