  1. Word on the street is if you want to get approved or even considered for palace chase outside of a year you need to have a letter of intent from a unit. Did you have that?
  2. I know you were joking about the migration. What I was referring to was do you think all they are waiting on is ADSC waiver? If I was a betting man I'd say they're not going to release the RIF numbers, they probably weren't suppose to release those in the first place. It seems to transparent for AFPC.
  3. Do you think that's what they're still waiting on? I had hoped the end pause meant they got the approval. I was thinking with the backlog the pause caused us VSPers are the last priority to TERA and 15 yr retirement and we are at the bottom of the stack. My other crackpot theory is they only received pilot apps for VSP and not enough of everyone else. HAF is probably waiting on the other AFSC's to apply so they can get cut them and deny us because they filled they're quota. I'm going bat shit crazy.
  4. Were they calling the mypers separations hotline because they are available 24/7. The actual separations office where everything is being processed is a different number that mypers won't give out.
  5. Still awaiting air staff approval. I think the mypers line has caller ID because my calls now mysteriously disconnect when it's connecting me to the call center separations section.
  6. I paid the 99cents for the one day subscription to AF times. Per the AF times review of congressional budget documents for Force Management. "Air force expects to pay $81.6 million to 560 officers taking TERA, or 15 yr retirements. Another 1,137 officers will receive $108.8 million in voluntary separation payments this year. The Air Force has not budgeted for officer TERA or VSP in 2015, suggesting the service does not expect to offer these programs again next year to officers." Hopefully this means we will get an answer before the next fiscal year.
  7. Anyone with a subscription to the AF Times read the FY 15 force management article? Wondering what it said. I'm hoping we don't get pushed until then for VSP.
  8. Talking to afpc today, they said they are filtering through apps and kicking back disapproved VSP apps while waiting on air staff to give the green light on adsc waivers. Do any of you ever call Mypers, or is it just about bitching on this forum and not taking any action? Yes VSP is on hold but it's on hold for the medical and adsc waivers. Maybe they will or maybe they won't approve them. Reapply if you haven't already and make sure the verbiage is correct "FY14 Voluntary Separation Pay (VSP) program". I have called Mypers at least 10 times to see where my app is since I have not been denied yet and my original app has been at afpc since the beginning of Feb. They will tell you if it's in the batch box which is the "waiting area" for the program that they will run when they get the go ahead from HAF. It will pull all your data from MILPDS to see if you qualify, and that's about it. Sooooo long story short, reapply if you were originally denied.
  9. A little more in depth explanation for the ADSC waivers. http://mobile.airforcetimes.com/article/20140317/CAREERS/303170022
  10. They are also sending out a new psdm 14-08 dated 13 March 14. Update RRA which talks about the recoup of VSP money if you get a retirement later on.
  11. Spoke to the Mypers service center today and they said they are still waiting on Air Staff to grant waiver authority for upt ADSC's.
  12. http://mobile.airforcetimes.com/article/20140312/BENEFITS/303120044 An expanded version of the AF.mil article.
  13. Finally someone that isn't a negative Nancy. People at Altus are also putting in again for VSP that were previously denied after CSAF spoke to them. What do you have to loose? If the SECAF says no to pilots with ADSC then oh well, however if Air Staff says yes then those people that reapplied will be very happy they did.
  14. What do you even base that off of. How would CSAF not have waiver authority? That makes zero sense.
  15. North 48 when you called the hotline did you talk to the separations office or some other office?
  16. I don't think a first batch was processed. Those apps with ADSC's were denied during the initial screening. We have three people at my base that have had their app in since day one and have not been rejected yet. They too have an ADSC for UPt.
  17. Million dollar question. Will we have an answer this week? Or maybe a first batch result?
  18. With the brief pause for Air Staff to digest the amount of VSP applicants, do you think the numbers will increase or decrease in the 11M category, or maybe they've decided to not release any pilots at all? With the 16,400 FY15 proposed active duty cut maybe they'll increase the numbers. Or is the Proposed FY15 cut part of the original plan that was unveiled my CSAF in December? However a majority of that will come from the enlisted force.
  19. Anyone else having to have 1 on 1 records review with their CC. We were told it's CSAF mandated for 05-08 yr group?
  20. I'm hearing some CC's say in there opinion that no one in the flying world will be released. Maybe a few RIFs. The reason being was the 2006 VSP made a huge cut in manning which they still haven't recovered from. Now they have to directly compete with the airlines for retention and that's a battle they will loose because leadership knows many of us will punch when our commitment is up. That's going to be a manning issue for the AF until at least 2030.
  21. The fact of the matter is most 11Ms want to take the VSP and get away from the never ending war. This is where top AF leadership has a disconnect from the masses.
  22. Someone commented on thePortal that when the SECAF gave her town-hall speech on AF portal she mentioned the 25K reduction. Not to mention she testified on capital hill the the AF is going to be getting smaller over the next ten years.
  23. Here's an AF times article that confirms the two week pushback. http://mobile.airforcetimes.com/article/20140114/CAREERS/301140010
