  1. I know I speak for a lot of people when I say I sure wish even half this level of scrutiny would have been levied on the previous President when he was candidate and then during 8 years in office.

Bill Ayers, IRS targeting, Fast and Furious, pallets of cash sent to Iran, Hillary selling uranium, unconstitutional Obamacare changes, etc etc. Those are just a few off the top of my head. The disparity is disgusting and it should enrage any American citizen. I’m all for holding leadership accountable, but accountability should be equitable.

  2. I’ll just keep answering my own questions since apparently everyone else who applied has peaced out.

The official email you receive with tentative approval explicitly states you aren’t cleared to out process. The guard/reserve unit then has to endorse your 1288 and send it back to AFPC to obtain final approval. I’m waiting at that stage. PC got to AFPC on 1 March, tentative approval 30 May.

  3. Those of you who have gotten Palace Chase approval, do you get an official email notification or something?

My Voluntary Separation application has the signed resignation acceptance from the O-6, but the CMS routing shows it is still in process and sitting with Palace Chase Separations. I’m wondering if I can print the signed resignation and go start out processing.

  4. Mine arrived at officer assignments on 25 March. It got back to PC Separations on 22 Apr and still nothing. I’ll let you know when I hear something.

To answer my own question above for those that might reference this in the future, you cannot set a separation date and simultaneously apply for Palace Chase. According to AFPC, you can only have 1 Voluntary Separation application pending at a time. Leaving the Air Force at the completion of your ADSC is considered voluntary separation, so you’d have to cancel any pending PC application to do that. The table in 36-3205 says you can’t have a pending voluntary separation.

  5. Saw this trailer today

Looks awesome. Wonder what the deal is with The Mighty Eighth? The teaser trailer came out almost 6 years ago.

  6. Doesn't look like any sort of fire started.

That’s crazy, supposedly it was also on takeoff. You’d think it would be full of gas and would have burned at least a little bit. Lucky for those in the ground, I read 3 injured and one of those was serious.

  7. That article was quite entertaining to read, and I would have loved to have been a part of that crew. The only thing I would have done differently would be to keep the pics I took.

You can draw some interesting things in WX holds in RPAs. You just have to increase the time on the history trails in Zeus, and all the glorious detail is revealed.

  8. Right, but the part where you want to establish a DOS at the end of your ADSC, that makes it PF.

Yes, I’m aware of that. I would prefer the slightly early out with PC, but I don’t want to have to sell back half of my terminal leave and I’d like to get TMO and all that stuff started. So any idea if you can do both at once?

Edit: Actually it wouldn’t even be both at once. I wouldn’t even apply for Palace Front unless they seriously delay my PC approval. I just want the separation date set to try to get TMO set up.

  9. Alright, I’m getting antsy and sick of waiting on AFPC to pull the trigger. Has anyone tried setting a separation date for the end of your ADSC while having a PC application pending? The PC reg only states you can’t be within “6 months of a normal date of separation at the time of application.”

I’d like to set a DOS, start the ball rolling to get my family and our stuff packed and moved this summer. I can just hang out here and either wait for PC approval/terminal or even longer for terminal for my normal DOS. My ISR says setting a DOS will make me ineligible for PC. I’m not seeing that in the reg or the PSDM.

  10. If we sell them the F-35, they’re going to give as many secrets away to Russia as they can. Then we just invalidated a $1 trillion defense program. Am I the only one that sees this happening? The 30 pound brains running our foreign policy and military sales have to see that coming. Turkey is not our friend.

  11. Don’t let ‘em get you down pawnman. With as scary as the world looks today, I’m glad there are those who want to continue on active duty teaching others how to kill people and break things. It’s just time for a lot of dudes like me to make the jump to doing it part time. I don’t fault you for trying to get promoted, and I wish you luck on the board.

I, for one have never played the AF game, and have very few awards to speak of because of it. Definitely no FGO awards, and I plan to keep it that way. But I don’t fault those who play the game, it is what it is.

  12. Departing the field at well less than 3000ft, suck the gear and continuing to accelerate, then pull (playing Fighter dude, that’s are best try) was another kick for a true heavy.

At training weights on locals, it’s more like rotating at the captains bars. 900ft takeoff rolls and that’s with a derated thrust takeoff. It’s a blast to fly. I’m going to miss it, but I won’t miss all of the bs that goes along with it.

  13. PC approved.
Initial submission was on 21 Nov, and as I look back at where everything sat it was the Wing and a Group that f*cked around with it all the most. Completed package got to AFPC/PC on 12 March...so, give them 2 months to process everything and you should be fine...don’t let the Group/Wing sit on stuff and hopefully everyone is smoother than my process.
After all the delays and change to my requested DOS, ended up only being about 2 months off my UPT adsc.
    Good luck all.

First off, congratulations. I’m hoping mine will be approved soon since it made it to AFPC on 1 March. Maybe they actually applied logic and pushed yours through quicker to accommodate the earlier separation date.

  14. No. Technically, for it to count as PIC, you need to carry the A code on the orders. In practice, most people claim a percentage of hours since AC cert (75-90% is typical).

I hate myself for actually documenting time accurately in my logbook. If I used this rule it would more than double my “PIC” time. Very rarely do we ever get sent out with two co-pilots, and that means you only get the A code half the time.

  15. Mine just recapped that I was from the local area, went to college there, and then a bit about my career thus far. I played up the RPA experience that would apply to the guard job. Give them a good reason why you want to be there and what it will mean to you to join that particular unit. It worked for me.

  16. It’s been a while since I’ve worn a g-suit, but I can’t imagine it would be great with the OCPs even sans belt. The big button in front for the pants and the two small metal buckles on the sides for waist size adjustment would surely start to dig in after a while. Ouch.
