  1. Steve, I'm sure the UK could handle anything medically that the US could, but the Air Force doesn't necessarily have arrangements with every specialist that a family might need. No specialist when one's required = family not cleared. For example, if a child needed their teeth cleaned, they would have to be medevac'd back to the US for treatment.

  2. You gonna try to pocket carry it or IWB? It's been mentioned before in the thread, but look at the Crossbreed SuperTuck. Mine carries a Combat Commander (substantially larger and heavier than your Shield) comfortably. The Shield is on my buy-when-I-get-home list and it'll ride in the SuperTuck. Ask for their mil discount, too.

  3. I agree with the last part - I walked in one day and the employee named Ken was a complete asshat. I hoped it was just him - maybe it's a company culture.

  4. I smell a troll....or a 2Lt.

I'm thinkin brand new co or nav. Been MR less than 4 months, sent out the door to deploy and doesn't even know what continent he's on yet.

    poundcake - Am I close???

  5. Yep. Even if you're an O-4, you're back to O-2 and have to wait 2 years for O-3.

I don't know what experience they'll accept from airframes they don't fly.

edit: The requirements just say "fixed wing" but that's their minimums - not what actually gets you accepted.

  6. Good thing whole animals don't die in the woods everyday....

Yep. It's really very common for 29 animals to die in one confined space, all piled together, freeze, then thaw 6 months later.

  7. If they explode the cows, just where do they think the muscle, bone, eyes, testicles will go? Sometimes I think people who got less than an A- in high school physics shouldn't be allowed to make decisions.

Coyotes and biodegradation. Both will be easier with cow pieces than whole cows.

  8. Just curious....why would you go through the ass pain of getting a Class 3 for 1.5 inches of reduced barrel length? Don't get me wrong, 1.5'' can be a substantial difference in life...I just don't think it applies in this situation though.

It's not NFA/Class III if the flash hider is pinned to make the overall length 16".

  9. Let me revive this thread with a few more discounts and a question.

Discounts if you ask for them. I've been on a gun-buying and modifying kick recently.

    • Nightforce Optics - 10-20%
    • US Optics - 10%
    • Seekins Precision - 10%
    • Leupold - varies
    • Brownell's - varies
    • Bud's Police Supply

Anyone know if Galco gives discounts? I'd like to get their M9 VHS for my next vacation.

ETA: Nope. No soup for you from Galco.
