  1. Fortunately my prior squadron (61 AS) just returned from Afghanistan. Prayers and wishing it's not bad.

Reports say twelve people, five of the dead were U.S. service members that were the crew of the aircraft, five were civilian contractors who were passengers, and two were local Afghan civilians who were killed on the ground. God bless.

  2. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/12/17/senate-gop-fails-in-final-bid-to-restore-military-pension-cuts-to-budget-bill/

Well you can now thank the democrats for taking more money out of your wallet. To all the liberals out there congrats your congressmen and senators value illegal immigrants over your work and sacrifices.

What I get from this article: "...a vote to "cut military pensions instead of cutting welfare for illegal immigrants."

Yep, apparently illegals are more important than US service-members. UFB.

  3. Most likely you'll be working in the HOA-Air Component. If you're an O-4 or above, you'll eventually move into the West End. Which means own room and own bathroom. I lived in a "wet" CLU, which was my own room with a shared bathroom with one other dude. Not bad at all compared to what the lower ranking E's had for living conditions. Weather isn't all that bad if you're there from Oct-Apr. There was a pretty good selection of alcohol, but the new commanding general wanted to tighten the reins on quite a few things on camp. Off-base excursions use to be frequent, but the use of GOVs for other-than-official business was coming to end when I left.

  4. It's really the idea of getting deployed on a ship that got me into the Navy, and since the Marines offer the same, I'm cool with either of the 2 branches.

Ship life sucks. I've been working with a bunch of Navy and Marine aviators out here and they can't stand living on a boat. The USMC LNOs dread heading back to the boat when the MEU heads out. Interestingly enough, USMC KC-130s are quite difficult to get into.

  5. If anyone hears that AETC rescinds their Monday Blues policy please post up.

Not that it matters to me, but since my organization is on one of their bases, it will make the military folks here happy! Despite the fact that we don't have a single AD USAF person here, the Army and Navy folks assigned are still required to follow the base policy!

    Cheers! M2

I heard AETC rescinded it through a friend. No supporting references though.

  6. They currently are here @ Andrews. Including the main gate where they wear blues, white gloves, white laces on their boots, & ascots. I rarely see the rent a cops @ the gate.

You aren't serious, are you? Yup, you are:

    Not much different than this:

But not as cool as this:
