  1. I can't believe my eyes. I am so happy for you guys even though my palace chase app is going to take months. Clear the path for the rest of us, start scheduling that TAPs class! On a separate note, had a guy in my unit 7 day opt out of an assignment and set a DOS for over a yr from now. Then applied to curtail his ADSC and was approved for a Dec '14 DOS. So one way to game it if you really want out is have your commander place you in a formal training course, when you get the RIP Just 7 day opt and then pursue that route. It's a gamble but isn't everything else?
  2. Why are we left with only one option in this entire debacle? All anyone is really empowered with is sitting idly by while ourselves or our brothers in arms are being treated like their futures do not matter to the people who are charged with the serious task of looking out for them. Seriously, if someone actually cared more would be done. The VA scandal is the most recent issue in the DoD that prompted an IG team start looking into the issue. Where is that line concerning this issue? Why are there no repercussions for any of AFPC's actions yet? Maybe there are and we just aren't privy to them (I'm all about reprimand in private) but I feel this latest push of adjudication further to the right is the straw that is going to break the camel's back. Stop giving individuals pending assignments with a separation allocation in the system. All you are doing is wasting everyone's time. If it's approved you have to find someone else for that slot. If you are trying to force their hand into 7 day opting you are creating even more paperwork for yourself. AFPC needs to sit down with whatever other agencies are involved and make a decision once and for all on all the pending applications. Stop allowing people to apply right now and just make a decision. Let's give them a week and then move on to more drastic measures. Http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sit-in
  3. Sorry, didn't mean to spam with bad gouge. Just want everyone to get the most info since it's not coming from where it should be
  4. I have a very easy solution to making every dollar count, stop giving me a paycheck! I found the solution for you, you are welcome On a side note, I promised info from the horses mouth, here it is on PTDY PTDY NOW AUTHORIZED FOR VOLUNTARY SEPARATEES IMPACTED BY FORCE MANAGEMENT. DoDI 1327.06 has been updated to reflect the entitlement of Permissive TDY for ALL separatees impacted by force management programs (use atch updated matrix). "An authorized permissive absence may be taken in conjunction with transition by members who are retiring, being separated involuntarily under honorable conditions, or voluntarily separating through a Military Department force reduction or force shaping program." The losing commander may approve up to 20 days for members based in the Continental United States (CONUS), up to 30 days for members stationed outside the Continental United States (OCONUS), and up to 30 days for CONUS-based members who have overseas residences. Use of benefit is subject to mission requirements and unit commander approval. May be taken all at one time or in increments, except in cases of disability retirement or separation in which time constraints dictate that it is taken all at once or not at all. Please begin briefing this new entitlement immediately during preseparation counseling using the updated matrix (attached). PALACE CHASE SEPARATEES & TAP MEDICAL BENEFITS. There have been a number of questions regarding Palace Chase separatees and 180 day Medical Benefits (TA-180). To clarify, Palace Chase Separatees do not receive an SPD Code that conveys TAP Benefits upon separation from Active Duty; however, once gained by a Reserve component (Reserve/Guard), they become eligible for the TA-180. This is temporary coverage until the member's TriCare Select Reserve benefits activate. Again, Palace Chase separatees (SPD codes MGQ, KGQ, and FGQ) are NOT authorized any Active Duty TAP benefits to include TA-180 at the time of separation. It is only upon accession/GAIN to the Reserve Component that they receive TA-180. TAP & WOUNDED WARRIOR EXEMPTIONS. Clarification on Wounded Warrior exemptions from the Department of Labor Employment Workshop. There seems to be confusion on what qualifies a Wounded Warrior as exempt from the DOLEW. The only allowable circumstance for Wounded Warrior's being exempt from the DOLEW is if they are currently enrolled in the Education and Employment Initiative (E2I) or a similar transition program designed to secure employment, higher education, or career technical training post-separation. We want to reiterate that having the status of a Wounded Warrior does NOT automatically grant exemption status - it must be verified that the member is enrolled in some sort of transition program to utilize the exemption. //NAME REMOVED// Airman & Family Sustainment Branch Directorate of Airman & Family Care Headquarters Air Force Personnel Center DSN 665-2311 Comm (210)565-2311 Also like I said, been playing catch up. Don't remember if this has been posted yet. (Free SWA tix for job interviews) Great deal/opportunity for transitioning service members! BLUF: Hire our Heroes (HOH) in partnership with the Armed Forces Foundation (AFF) will provide a free, round-trip ticket to any transitioning vet going on a job interview (final steps/face-to-face) anywhere in the country. http://hireourheroes.org/free-travel/#sthash.91GuTzsz.dpbs
  5. Thanks. So you are telling me I applied for VSP, got denied because they already "fixed their manning issue and approved the max they are going to" but as soon as FY15 hits, same yr group and same Afsc is magically going to be in an overage? That just doesn't compute. That's not addressed to you but to afpc.
  6. Sorry if this has been posted, just playing catch up from 23 days on leave and finally able to get on myPers. So I click on the new FY15 LAF RIF matrix and it pulls up the FY14 one. How can I see if my yr group is over for the FY15 programs and when do they start? Thanks for the help I click on the link in note 2 under attachment 1 but no worky :(
  7. this is more stressful than flying in combat with a brand new crew
  8. got it, your initial denial was for the ADSCs that currently werent waived, then you applied again once they were. Buck, sent you a PM
  9. so hella did you apply for the LADSC waiver again? Buckner, do you know how long it was from when these guys applied to when they were approved? i still want to know how the 02 guy got approved when our matrix was updated about 2-3 weeks ago and doesnt show an overage anymore. If this process is faster I will pull my palace chase app right now and apply but didnt think i was eligible anymore. i just want an answer faster so I can update my airline apps and start working on the next job
  10. ok its not VSP where P is the pay, its the VS program and they requested a LADSC waiver. confirm? its all in the details, thought you were an exec? Psdm 13-65 updated 7 feb states that 11m's are eligible but UFT was not waiverable. Any 2004 guy is gonna have a pilot trng adsc, so im requesting a follow up to your post on when they applied, to what program and how long it took. You know the info on here is the best "guidance" we really have, but let's do ourselves a favor and post the right stuff as to not steer people into a headwind, thanks in advance for the additional details
  11. YGBSM!!!!! Buckner, I know everyone's gonna ask but more details please. How the F did they send out so many denials already and the 02 year group even went red like 2-3 weeks ago!!!!!!!!! This is ludicrous. "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
  12. Don't quote me but I don't think there is reserve Dv airlift except Scott (737) and Andrews. Macdill does have a reserve 135 sq. The real way to get hired by these places is know someone in the unit and have ties to the local area. They hire for you to be in their family. If you want to live in NC that 135 unit is hiring a lot right now with boards every 2 months I think. Also Montana and conn are standing up c-130 units and looking to start filling some TR positions. Also UPT needs people and Sheppard is now an option, don't have to be a fighter dude. West Va is doing a conversion I believe and is hiring. And OK is hiring a lot for their new MC-12 mission and something else as well I think. It's all about where you want to live. "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
  13. Yes. Finally got ahold of the ISR, sends me all the stuff and he's been here over a year and it still has all the old ISR's info on it. Amazing. This is going to be a trip "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
  14. PM me, I'll shoot u the email and fwd it to the ISR or commander. What's the worse they can say, no? "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
  15. I have called and emailed the ISR starting on the 30th everyday, haven't heard one word. I get it, there are a million guys wanting out and bombarding him but 9 days of no contact seems a bit much don't you think? "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
  16. I used ptdy for my last interview. Don't know about the current guidance being in a reg but it was in a psdm that you didn't get it and then they sent out a clarification memo via email a couple weeks saying you do. If you PM me your work email I will try and hunt down the guidance and shoot it to you. If you are Oconus you get 30! "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
  17. FLY, where are you doing your type? Im in vegas doing it right now. They just updated all the guidance and you def. get the 20 days PTDY. Also, if you have 70 days of leave then thats when you start your terminal, how can they tell you you cant take it all at once?? Makes no sense. And instead of burning it all right now, just sell some. About 50 days gets you around $9k as a Major
  18. vpr is correct, but realize 60 days is the max...for your ENTIRE career. so if you go on an extended deployment and say make 5-10 days, you MUST use them because you are already at your max. as an '02 Maj with 50 or so days, expect to get about 9k.
  19. Ya sorry bama, should have clarified and realized you guys were talking about the FM pgm PC as I have already moved on ('02 guy) "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
  20. I'm starting this process this week, just recently got a hire letter. Question for the masses since my ISR is no where to be found and I am on leave for the next two weeks. Does the wing/cc and ISR have to sign the 1288 before I upload it to vmpf? I sent it to the execs but I can't get ahold of the ISR to save my life. Thanks for the help "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire" Abg2005, I have heard of this and my buddy tried to get it. I have heard of guys coming in off the street after a break in service getting it. However, my buddy PC'd with a commitment left and the gaining finance said he was ineligible. Of course, it's all about who you talk to and making the paperwork work for you so I would keep asking as I am after my PC goes through but it might be a long shot. "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
  21. Actually I think it goes to the SAF for approval, functional really has little day is what I gather. While they might have before, I have heard a lot of guys who got not recommend from cc and afpc and still were accepted from the SAF. Ultimately I think if there is a position available, you aren't critically manned and already have a hire letter you'll be good to go. At least that's what I am hoping as I submit mine this week (if the ISR ever gets back to me) "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
  22. so now Bronze Stars for TIB right? They knew what they were getting into, they applied for this and now complaining about it? Cry me a river
  23. '02 11M GI Bill June '15 Adv Fly Training Oct '15 (while others aren't getting charged for the same training, bush league!) VSP denied. Come on PC! Can I still apply for the 1-1 program now that our year group is red? What a goat rope. "You never have too much gas...unless you're on fire"
