Like busdriver said, if the move to AFSOC is going to make sense, it needs to be all-in instead of halvsies like last time. I too have sat alert for SOF missions, in multiple theaters. And I was in Pakistan in 06 when we got a call on the satphone to take off our AFSOC patches...

I couldn't get a couple of safety-related 847's approved through the bureaucracy my last 2 years in the AF. How will they manage to change USERRA?
Huggy, my record was 5 years from 847 submission to fruition. Of course, now I'm on the flip side of that coin as an FMM...

We got a nice little rate dip this week and I'm taking advantage of it to lower rates at no cost for as many people as I can.
If you are over 3.625% on a 30yr VA that's still your primary residence, email me to see if I can make a NO cost VA IRRRL work for you. I just need your state, VA Disability status, credit score and loan amount to run a quick quote.
I can also do No cost IRRRLs on previous homes that you still have a VA on but use as a rental now. The rate would just be a little higher but if your sitting above 4% it'd be worth looking at.
Take care!

Anyone in the know who can speak to what new/upgraded stuff the viper might get besides AESA?
Yes, I'm in the know. No, I'm not speaking to any of that shit. Where are your troops and can I count them?

All of Nob Hill is south of I-40, as is UNM . . . am I missing something?
Not that I don't get your point about the no-mans-land between Central and the airport.
it's ABQ. The TV show COPS originated there. Nob Hill is between Central and the airport. Your distance north from I-40 is inversely proportional to the amount of crime you may personally experience. Nob Hill and UMN are close enough to the turd they get spill-over.

Hello,
I'm currently retraining and will be getting to Kirtland for IQT in April. I've found much better lodging for $650/month less than what would be charged for the on base rate. ThreeHoler, Do you have any regs or ROEs for getting this paid out?
where's this cheapo lodging? If it's south of I-40, you may want to re-evaluate your options, or resign yourself to getting your vehicle broken into or stolen.

Active Duty Serive Obligation
obviously us guard guys are not active duty, but you get the idea...hey you went to this school, we get to keep you for this long
we AF peeps call it an ADSC (c for commitment); we understand the concept, just the acronym was different.

Also, with a baby, you could probably throw out the crew rest card. You won't be afforded the opportunity for 8 hours of uninterrupted crew rest with only a 1 bedroom TLF...

You guys are missing the point. Nobody is gonna take a paycut to live in DLF.
There will ALWAYS be people who want to, or don't mind living in, places that would seem less desirable to many others. Case in point, Mother Rucker.

I've got an answer for you, but I'm TDY away from my Personal Folder...and ACC still has 99MB Mailboxes. I went to the EFB conference last year and met with one company that develops them directly with AF approval built-in (and MIL-STD). Its also designed to fit in the front of the lens cover of an Otterbox. They make a few different models for the Mini...like glare resistant to stay on all the time or just NVIS temporarily, but it scales with money. Is money a direct concern? or classic Fighter Budget-Dust?
How many are you looking for? Or just testing for you?
If you're not using Otterboxes...can you let me know which, so I can verify compatibility when I reach out and connect? (STS)
P.S. Disclaimer...Not a salesperson...an actually crew dog.
gathering options to present to a customer. Had an interesting brief/demo today from one such company, might be the one you're referring to.

All the new generation iPads being issued at Hurlburt have a useable filter for when we're on NVGs. The old gen iPads just had to do the invert colors as posted above but it sucked, although the new filters are actually pretty nice.
Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network ForumsCan you find out specifics on the filter?

PM sent. I found this list on a Navy document (thanks CNATRA for posting things online):
a. WAMCO P/N FPDC212-IPM-002 for iPad Mini
b. KORRY NIGHTSHIELD P/N 50051-001 for iPad MiniWould be curious to see what the AATC folks came up with.
-
it's not my iPad, it's for the F-16. Is Invert Colors truly NVIS compatible? Otherwise it's just a short-term work-around to a long-term problem. And I'm looking for the long-term solution. But thanks for the suggestion!
-
For communities with EFBs, and who fly with them at night on NVGs:
1. Do you have an NVIS-compatible filter for your EFB?
2. If so, who made it/where was it procured?
Looking for an NVIS filter film/glass of some sort for iPad minis that won't negate the touch screen capes. I assume there's already a govt-approved solution out there, so please share what you know.

If that's the case, might as well bring back Bergstrom. I'm sure plenty of people would volunteer for that one.
I wish (native Austinite here)! I remember visiting Bergstrom when I was in middle school before it got BRAC'd. Now it's the international airport...so that won't work either.

It was in the porch brief from our functional. Official AFPC brief. He also mentioned Moody standing back up for full UPT ops.
Sent from my iPhone using Baseops Network Forumslol. Ramp's full at Moody. The space once occupied by the T-6s and T-38s is occupied by A-10s and A-39s. Airspace is also full. Pipe dream for someone at AFPC, methinks.

Correct, another way to look at it is 424.1 - 1st VA loan amount (original balance, not what you owe) = 2nd VA loan amount available with 0% down.
You can spend more but you'll have to put a little down.
I recommend anyone doing a second VA that has 5% to put down to do it because it drops your VA funding fee from 3.3% to 1.5% saving you a significant amount.
Marty
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalkmoot for me since my finding fee is waived (60% disability FTW). But yes, I will be coming to the table with $$ for my next purchase in UT.

Realize the fundamental error of regarding such functional notions with hatred is not quite equivalent to an important distinction in vocabulary use. A consequence of the approach you seem to be taking is that any associated supporting elements for your distaste are likely different from any abstract underlying order. In the discussion of presumptive confabulations, an important property of such with respect to the ultimate standard is the the accuracy of any proposed grammar. Comparing the earlier examples with their parasitic gap counterparts, we see that the speaker-hearer's linguistic intuition suffices to account for the strong generative capacity of your emotion. Note that the appearance of parasitic gaps in domains relatively inaccessible to ordinary extraction is, apparently, determined by nondistinctness in the sense of distinctive feature theory.

Update: Just got the official word that the base line loan limits will increase from $417K to $424,100 effective 1 Jan. Some high cost of living areas will be higher. If you're curious you can find your new county limit at http://www.fhfa.gov/DataTools/Downloads/Documents/Conforming-Loan-Limits/FullCountyLoanLimitList2017_HERA-BASED_FINAL.PDF
Marty,
Does this mean if I haven't fully used my VA entitlement, the remaining portion of it will be based on $424.1K (aka, 25% of $424.1K minus how much I've already used)?

other than directly caused by the ejection, any damage to the plane? Was he on roll out our what? Last time, I remember seeing pics of the F-16 inverted sticking out of the mud with landing gear extended...

Well the awe inspiring briefs that are being given don't paint that picture and it has nothing to do with professionalism. That contract is not sustainable at that level.
that's a problem with how the govt wrote the contract, not with the contract instructors. Govt set an unreasonable expectation for "efficiency" and then fines the company when students are "late" (and I say late in quotes, because even if a student makes it to the flightline on time, if every syllabus event didn't occur on the day of the syllabus it was supposed to, that's a late, which is ridiculous).

CSR is $450 (so $100 cheaper than AMEX Plat), comes with SPG Gold, which means you get Marriott Gold, $100 GE credit, $300 travel credit, Priority Pass. So in the years you don't use the GE credit, the card is still only $150 annual fee after the $300 travel expense credit. Plus I think the Ultimate Rewards points go farther. But that's just me. I have the best of both worlds because I'm also an additional cardholder on a family member's AMEX Plat.
