  1. I'll be there with a bunch of people from Daytona. What's the door charge?
  2. ^ What Goin2UPT said. Goose, he's right about FY06. A Colonel came in and talked to our class about it, pretty much saying that anyone contracted or not could walk away without paying a dime. It was a pretty good offer to those who weren't 100% about it. But this was before categorization. I'm not sure how the offer stands now, or whether they'll allow it to cat'd cadets.
  3. Guys at Moody had a huge boat of a car painted up like a T-38 as well. They even had exhaust nozzles and a tail on it. Let me know if that doesn't work. [ 28. July 2005, 00:05: Message edited by: toastychicken ]
  4. I'd like some more info on just what exactly the nav "does" nowadays. Honestly, I can't find a speck of info out there on what their exact flight duties are. Everyone knows what the pilot is doing from the moment he steps into preflight to the moment he gets home at the end of the day, but what about the nav? Also, what is training at Randolph like?
  5. Coming from the civi side... There's an NDB approach to a local field that juts out diagonally over the Atlantic. The standard approach takes you probably 3 miles offshore, and down to 1600'. Which by itself is already fairly low for being that far out over water, but its not really a big deal. It gets hairy when you've got 4 aircraft shooting the same approach being stacked up and out over the ocean. I was flying a 172 under the hood getting some crazy vectors and just following orders while my IP kept his SA up for the both of us. Glancing at the GPS I could see we were pushing 10 miles offshore at 1600'. At that point you start second guessing your IO-360 engine and your religion. We turn inbound, and immediately approach clears us down to the MDA of 500-odd feet. Uneasily I look at my IP with a "Do I REALLY want to do that right now?" puppy dog look on my face, and he comes back with "Just keep it here for a bit...and pedal faster." Never liked that approach.
