From the site that had the initial picts. What started as interest in what might have caused this turned to anger as all these dipshits walked all over the wreakage area, and likely the dusty remains of our fallen brothers.
A toast
Out
Yeah, no kidding. Having all those people trample on their gravesite pisses me off. I wonder who the American was in the last minute of the video.

Those pictures were hard to look at. Prayers go out to the families. This has been a real shitty week!! Stay safe out there brothers.

Very hard to watch. They definitely gave their all the whole way down. Very sad.

Rumor coming out of ACSC that the AAD is going away again.
Wouldn't surprise me. However, commanders using it as a way to dole out DPs won't.

I'm willing to bet that it won't be long until someone turns these fuck-tards in. Over/under I'm thinking is 5 days.

Asking tough questions of an organization that appears to be adrift does not make one a "hater". Not even sure what you mean by "give the man a break". Do you mean to say that we should lower our expectations for strong leadership to get us back on track (The current CSAF has 30+ years of service and is already 20% into his term as top dawg, assuming 4 years)? As an airman and as a taxpayer, I choose not to embrace a "feeling" of unfounded eternal optimism or worse, apathy.
You said, "He's the best we've had in a long while". Can you substantiate this? I can't (or haven't) really make the argument that he's been better or worse than any former CSAFs, and that's at the heart of my point here. I'm being completely honest, besides the historical politically correct witch hunt and the willy-nilly comments regarding blues Monday and nonsensical AFIs, I can't really name anything else (besides the usual, "you guys are all great", "we're really like a family", etc...). Again, and I'm being sincere here, can you please expand on this?
I'm just saying that it takes time to un-fuck years of misplaced priorities. Throw in shit like budget sequestration, and it's going to take a while...longer than just a year. You can be critical all you want, but I would reserve judgement towards the 2nd half of a guy's term. I've had the pleasure of meeting & talking with Gen Welsh a couple times since he's taken office, and can say he has the pulse of the people...more so than previous. Is he a miracle worker that can change EVERYTHING for the better in a year, or four? Probably not, but he'll steer the ship towards the right direction.
The CSAF will & always will be part politician...just the nature of the job.

Bunch of haters...give the man a break. He's the best we've had in a long while.

Realize as an ABM you'll frequently be sitting backwards or sideways in the back of a hot jet with no windows getting bounced around during an hour or two of Transition (landings) at a time
Very true...I'm not normally a puker, however sitting in the back as self-loading cargo, it wouldn't take me long. Especially when sub-stellar pilots are attempting receiver AR.

Just curious, has anyone done correspondence courses from some of the other services (of the IDE variety)? If so, what was the pain factor?
-
I know, separate topic, but the AF needs to shit can the whole PRF deal for promoting to Captain. It's just stupid.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure no one looks at dream sheets for casual & UPT assignments. Back in the day I had Cannon on mine for casual (I had family there) and I totally counted on going there since no one in their right mind would request that---they then gave me Eglin. Go figure.
I then requested Laughlin, Vance, and Columbus for UPT---they then gave me Moody.
I'm glad it happened the way it did though because casual in an F-15C unit was pretty sweet, as was living by the beach as a 2LT, and flying a brand spanking new trainer. Not to mention it was nice getting 3 weeks off after we finished T-6s so we could move to either DLF or CBM.

For what it is worth, when CSAF visited our base, he specifically said he is going to looking into masking the degree. No timeline mentioned
Oh, I believe it. He's been promising his vector soon, and I honestly believe he'll choose to mask the degree. It just makes sense...besides, there might not be TA for much longer.
-
Please God, cut TA for master's degrees. Maybe they'll get masked, people can stop working on masters at work, and they can focus on little things... like their job.
You know, if CSAF decides to mask the AAD for promotion boards, it still doesn't get masked from your WG/CC (the guy who hands out the DP/P). He also sees the completion year.

This must have been terrifying:
Great journalism...if there are only 3 people on the aircraft, they are called crew, not passengers. Ugh.

Saw that on Tosh...disturbing.

yeah, only took him 6,136 posts to throw in the towel.
.....that mean's we've got 2,964 posts to go until nsplayr quits.
I think the 6136 posts were after he deleted his last profile & started a new one after a hiatus. So, post count is probably closer to 10K.

Yep... had a 'command' chief (who apparently was in the chain of command for E medals) try to deny a MSM for a tech (who had actually been promoted to master by the time the paperwork finally made it). Literally wanted to see that the guy had gotten 5s on all his EPRs *ever*. O-6 intervention later required.
Sounds very similar to a guy that PCS'd from our squadron. Still waiting for O-6 intervention though.

Just watched the episode...very well done. I have the utmost respect for those guys. Looking forward to next week's show.

2.
Edit: This actually made the ######ing NBC Nightly News.
Doesn't surprise me, as the media has had a renewed hard on for CIA drone strikes with Brennan's confirmation.
-
I'm all for recognizing the accomplishments of UAV "drivers" for what they do, especially since they aren't in a cockpit, however awarding a medal that outranks the Bronze Star is a little much I thinks.
-
Doesn't mean we're listening.
Exactly.

We still wear leather jackets and the fighter community seems to think that its necessary to remove the "tampon pocket" on their flight suits.
Wait a minute. I thought they were called "Peter pockets"?

Smart move...a PRF & promotion board for LTs was complete BS. I'll give Welsh credit.
