  1. Another kudos to Jon and team at Trident. We just closed on our place and they were awesome as always. When the title company started f’ing things up, Jon and Lisa’s great communication allowed us to get them to fix their shit. Rate and credit were better than any lender, and they were on top of their game so that when the title company finally got everything lined up, THL was ready to go and we closed on time. I’ve recommended them to all my friends and have used them a couple times all with no issues. Every time I’ve shopped around I’ve never found better than THL. Don’t hesitate to call... you won’t regret it.
  2. Another vote for Jon and Trident. I worked with them in my original loan but because my builder had a preferred lender, no one could match the closing credits. However I just closed a partial cost refi with them at 3.125% and they picked up my FL closing costs (~1.5%) and I picked up the funding fee. The process was painless and the Trident team were all awesome. I Wouldn’t hesitate to use them again In the future.
  3. I have the actual paperwork at work, but it's something along the lines of UPT ADSC complete and less than 15 years of service. So you have about a 3 year window to be eligible. Also, you are non-eligible if you are a permanent AGR. You have to be a part timer (but can take TAGR/ADOS/seasoning orders) to be eligible. I think there was some language about if you pick up a PAGR position later, you aren't eligible for any more payments, but I don't think that will matter as it's one lump sum payment. Don't quote me on any of this. I just signed mine today... as for tax free, the legaleze reading seemed to be that the IRS only allows (re)enlistments when signed downrange to be tax free. Apparently Officer accessions bonuses don't seem to count as an enlistment. Oh well, i've fought the system for almost 14 years... I've had enough.
  4. Well now at least I know that there's a different one per state. I ran the question up my chain and through my finance. However, my finance can't even get my flight pay to show 10+ years/$1000... I got a whole $260 last month. So we'll see how this goes. The way I understand it is that as long as I am downrange on the date I sign it, then it should be tax free? At least assuming this follows the same rules as the AvB. Anyone with experience actually getting this done?
  5. Sounds like I may get to be the guinea pig. Do you have contact info for JFHQ? DMing is fine if you'd rather. I wouldn't even know where to start once I found a # to call... and I'm sure I would get the "That's not our job, let me transfer you to ###..."
  6. First post after probably a decade of not logging in... Apparently I'm the 1 pilot in my squadron who's eligible. I'm planning to stay ANG anyway, but my question is about signing it downrange. If I sign the bonus in a CZTE area, do I get the $$ tax free, or do I have to be paid the $$ while downrange for it to be tax free? I have the question in with finance, who's looking in to it, but I'm sure that means the answer is the standard Auto-No. If anyone has any experience with this or knows how to find the legit answer, I'd appreciate the help. a not so F15E fly guy anymore
