Speaking of which, the MIA to ICN is over 16hrs so the 25% override is ok, but maybe not worth it as we are spoiled having additional 75% extra on top thanks to the cdc… time limited of course but harvest it when the going is good. I suspect before this fall/peak, company will offset the hemorrhaging with hopefully some substantial consistent cheddar. See you on the road, unless you go to greener pastures that meet your needs.
I do that run later this week. But have to run thru PVG before heading south.

17R is outstanding. A lot easier, but I don’t mind the taxi across China if I can beat block. PVG has been good for the extra extra extra $ while it lasts.
Agreed on the extra $$$

The Watts Barr nuclear plant in Tennessee is most recent construction in US. Began in 1973, has two reactors, Unit 1, completed in 1996, and Unit 2, completed in 2015.; 23 and 43 years respectively.
Nuclear is a great option, but not a quick one.

Right down the road from me. Pass it on the way to my dad’s place on the river.

Hay-sus Krist, this 'thing' won't die...
Multiple political outlets have reported on the Clintons spooling up their "Clinton Global Initiative" machinery again.
You know, that multi-hundreds of millions of dollars in donations for access to then-Senator, later SecState, later presumed POTUS heir apparent. When she crashed and burned in 2016, donations went down from the 10s of millions per year in, largely, foreign money - Russia/Saudi/Pakistan, etc - to the thousands.
Now, the old band is getting back together.
She's gonna try again.
It’s hard to kill the devil

This is why I so dearly my cargo gig. I land at ICN, and they say “follow the greens.”
Wait…scratch that, cuz then I go to anywhere in China, which is like O’Hare…in mandarin.
I wish every airport had “Follow The Greens”.
Landed in PVG yesterday and lucked out and got the landing on 17R. I think it was because we came from BKK instead of ICN. Typically feels like your taxiing across China.

What about all of the million dollar TV ads USAA puts on during college football season...
you know, an ad saying, “we are only for the military, but thanks for letting us spend millions to tell everyone that”
Another reason I left them a few years ago

Currently, WA and AK do not have state income tax.
Nor do TN and FL

Shack. True in the Navy as well.
Scooter…you might be the exception (I kid…I kid).
You can stop by my office tomorrow and give me shit.

Thanks man, any word asking around?
I heard back from our wing CSS folks that OCONUS leave would not be approved, but no one can point to a reg or business rule or anything in black and white that says that. Appreciate any help!
Just talk to your boss and let him know. I bet it works out. Leave the Wing CSS out of it.

I'll be on a mob for the first time second-half of FY22 (1 Apr - 30 Sep) and I'm looking for an official reference one way or the other on if I can take OCONUS leave. I'm an RPA pilot so the "mobilization" is at our home station flying our normal combat line, so no change in location/mission/etc. from the normal federal MPA orders we work all the time. I had initially thought it'd be no different than taking leave while on federal orders any other time, but other folks have raised their eyebrows and said to try to find out for sure. Looking to have a solid reg to point to before I either book expensive tickets to Europe or rolex the family vacation to another time.
Thanks in advance for the help! All the small wrinkles and permutations in the Guard are vast and mysterious, and even 7 years into my Guard career I'm still but an apprentice...
29 years and I never truly figured it out. I don’t think it matters about where you go, as long as your on leave and have the accrued days. I never had anyone tell where I could or couldn’t go.

What do you want to know? I’ve seen a ton of job listings in the medical field here. Granted, I haven’t looked at any listing for about 7 months but I don’t expect it to have changed very much.

Large medical job market for most of the TNANG based, especially Nashville and Knoxville.

Thanks for the reply. I supposed I shouldn't say rural. But many ANG units are located 45 minutes to an hour outside of major metro areas. The commute isn't ideal but it is doable!
Most ANG units are in great locations. What areas are you looking in?

Crenshaw was completely against the withdrawal, and I agree with him.
I like Tulsi, but I get the feeling she's whatever she needs to be to stay relevant.
I'd much rather see Nikki Haley with Crenshaw as VP. As a bonus, Haley is a Trump favorite and might just be able to keep him from running again, instead taking the role of "queen maker."
I could see myself supporting this team

Did anyone here apply to the 143d airlift squadron?
Lobsters and Mobsters!

Definitely must be region dependant. We can barely get our flight docs away from their civilian jobs to fly with us.
Or timeframe dependent. I retired 6 months ago and the doctors retired 4 or 5 yrs before I did. And these weren’t flight docs, they were pilots that were civilian docs.

They will be welcomed with open arms here!!

I would say it'd be tough to hold a medical-related job down as any type of DSG aircrew member. Being an aircrew member requires quite a bit of participation.
I disagree. The doctors that were in my ANG unit never had a problem maintaining currencies.

It's not political. It's intended as a one time message, from me to the younger generation.
My message to you was a one time message as well.

Don’t drag the politics and COVID crap into this forum. You have plenty of other threads to do that.

Glad you put that out there in the universe. New Pay Scales retroactive 1 Sept along with new vacation accrual and new min guarantee. Union email came out yesterday. So there’s that.
Yep, saw that. Glad I could help the cause!

Well I just came off training pay, so anything is a rather large pay raise. But I would prefer the new rate to be in effect now rather than later.
