Are we going to reschedule the draft for tomorrow?

I emailed the league manager... He should shoot you an invite by latest tomorrow morning with an invite because the draft is at 11am PT tomorrow. Keep an eye out for that invite before 10:00am (the latest you can join before we have to reschedule the draft) and we should be good to go.

We just need one more guy! Cmon! Hell, I'll even pay for $5 of the $20 entry fee for whomever PM's b52gator to sign up by tonight! Just one more goddamnit...

I've been using ESPN for a few years now and I think our manager has to email each of us an ESPN invite which will give us access. Shot him your email address and we should be good to go.

For those of us PCS'ing to UPT, whats the deal with our furniture if we are to live in the dorms? Will our stuff be held in storage for free or will we have to find our own storage after X amount of days?

I just got my copy in the mail today... I'm screening it for my fellow cadets for a Memorial Day LLAB coming up this week.

We were briefed on it by our Col last week... The BL is that the Air Force is looking for around 20 new lieutenants to become recruiters in certain areas of the US with high populations of minorities. Its similar to the Army's program... The selected lieutenants are sent to Maxwell for 10 days of training before being sent to 1 of 20 possible AFROTC detachments to begin work. The year long assignment starts in June and the deadline to apply is sometime in the next week or two. Let your PAS know if you're interested. My PAS also told us that if you're rated, you won't loose your assignment, you'll just start UPT a year later. He said that non-rated folks will be recycled.

I'm commissioning this coming June and will more than likely have a good 6 months before my EAD date comes around. I have next to no prior flight experience and I wanted to ask you guys if getting 20 - 30 hours in a DA-20 prior to my EAD date would be beneficial for me going into IFS and UPT in general...? Right now I have no intention of trying to go -38's and honestly helos look really badass and most appealing to me. I have heard rumors that pilot trainees at UPT can be guaranteed a helo slot if the trainee commits to the slot prior to completing UPT. Is this true? Thanks for all the info and I can't wait to get into the real Air Force and the f*** out of ROTC...

Over the past few years I've seen various commissioning classes wear various ribbon combinations at their commissioning ceremony... A few years ago I saw the newly commissioned LT's wear both the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Training ribbon while more recent classes have worn only the Air Force Training Ribbon. The Air Force Training ribbon seems pretty straight forward... "completion of initial accession training after Aug. 14, 1974." I know the criteria for the NDSM reads that Zoo cadets can wear the NDSM upon commissioning as a LT but does this apply to us ROTC kids? So I was wondering if anyone can provide some more insight onto which ribbons we're allowed to wear when the '09 class commissions in the coming months?

I'm with the Gas Man on this one. I was picked up for pilot and I'm entering my final year but there is no way I'm going to wear the flight suit around campus. Regardless of what the regs say I personally feel I haven't earned the right to wear it yet, especially to some BS lecture. And the argument that cadets running around campus in a bag is some sort of recruiting tool is even more reason for me to not want to wear one. Until I get to IFS I'll embrace the fact that I haven't earned shit and quietly wear my ABU's until the time comes to do some actual flying.

Do you have any statistic or source supporting this claim? I doubt that the occasional AFROTC cadet wearing a bag on campus has any significant impact on the Air Force reaching its recruiting quota.

I just don't understand why any cadet should be allowed to wear the bag, rated or non-rated... I was given a pilot slot back in March and just found out I'm heading to XL but I still don't feel I should have the right to wear the bag around campus and feel like a big shot just because the AF feels I should have a chance at becoming a pilot. Army cadets don't wear ranger tabs just because they've been allocated a slot for Ranger school and I won't wear my bag just because I've been allocated a slot for pilot training. I'll wear one if and when I truly deserve to. If Space and Missile cadets, or even rated cadets for that matter want to wear the bag around campus thats fine with me. They can do what they want but personally I would rather earn my shit and wait till IFS before I even think of stepping into one.
