Can you afford to not occupy it, have it sit there empty and require cleanup/home care while you're still gone?

That was all fine and dandy until Strzok and Page were outed (by a leak, no less) as trying to arrange a secret meeting with a FISA judge, and the FBI felt it was appropriate to hide this fact from Congress through redaction.
Oh, and another professional, Andy McCabe, did such a good job that even the FBI felt he should be fired and lose his pension.
And Comey, that paragon of blind justice, looks worse by the day with his scheming and leaking and inconsistency.
They're making it pretty damn hard to trust the "professional career lawmen."Copy, no issues with Mueller or Rosenstein though.
Source on the secret meeting w/ a FISA judge?

I mean, for fvcks sake, Mueller charged Russians for setting up a bot farm to spread misinformation... Weak.
Are you saying that's weak as in pointless, or weak as in it didn't happen and some "deep state" is rising up against the anointed Prez?
Just so we're clear, you're fine with some crimes getting prosecuted, but not others. So you're cool with the original Slick Willy issues while he was in office? Since you don't think lying to the FBI/investigators should be punishable.

It's extra cyber-secure if even you can't access it.

Ok so I still have a laptop that uses Windows 7 with Internet Explorer 11, Mozilla, AND Google Chrome. I'm doing ACSC by Correspondence, and apparently, not only can I NOT access my base email from home, but I can't access Air Force Portal, AND Air University. This just started happening literally this week. However, my wife's laptop has Windows 10, and I have zero problems accessing Air Force Portal. Apparently, the warnings I'm receiving from Google Chrome is that Air Force Portal lost it's Security Certificate on MY laptop.
Is anybody else having this problem as well? Did a memo come out stating that Air Force Portal and all other Air Force sites requite Windows 10, etc etc??
Upgrade to Win10.

Historically has Flight Commander been viewed as an additional duty/queep job? Figure that's the first time (senior-ish Capt) there's a little more management mixed in with the leading.

Part II - https://warontherocks.com/2018/03/air-force-in-crisis-part-ii-how-did-we-get-here/
How was leadership allowed to let this happen? I've never seen the damage put together so clearly.

So, Rocky Mountain AFCEA is in full effect this week. Basically the place all the GO's go to hobnob with their future employers and actually get work done.
New AFSPC/CV preaching the truth about Cyber Ops Officers though -
"Skinner said his issue isn't with his airmen's ability or drive, but rather with how they are prepared.
He described an "overly homogenized" career field that promotes a "perpetual amateurism."
The Air Force cybersecurity career field has too few specialties, creating a "jack of all trades, master of none" approach to a rapidly evolving cyber battlefield.
"We need to continue growing a deep bench," he said."
We've been offered a retention bonus and people still aren't staying that are worth much. Because there's the chance you'll get pulled off keyboard after your first/second assignment and go to a job that utilizes NONE of that experience. Plus we've still got Col's who think that we can't be a AFSC with "Have's and Have Not's." So from Cyber Ninja to Traditional Comm Sq should be looked at as good career progression, or to MAJCOM staff working the GO's cloud infrastructure project...or Win10 migration.
We're all considered 17D's...which makes it easy for AFPC to move us around...because that's what's important.

It’s only serious if you’re junior ranking or you’re not a hot chick. I had a Sq/CC leave his SIPR hard drive in the computer over night, in his unsecured office, after he went home. Thankfully, his punishment consisted of working at AMC/A3N.
Can confirm. Had a LtCol who was exec for a 4-star. He lost the keyed secure cell-phone in the O Club parking lot...in a foreign country (ok.. it was Ramstein). I tried to dissuade him, but he "wanted to get used to carrying it for the boss." Nada happened.

Airperson is offensive to non ops types as it insinuates that you aren’t as special if you aren’t near the flight line. Soon to come: blueperson.

Execs in all squadrons used to be non-flyers. There was a 97E and then the 1-2 “flying execs” that were really only there to make sure the 97E didn’t screw up the OPRs.
Then the exec “need” just kept growing and growing after they got rid of the 97Es.Also, word on the former-Comm side is a lot of the execs were Comm O's as well. I remember my first assignment (still an E) the Wing King's Exec was Mx. Wasn't until mid-2000's it started looking like a "promotion opportunity."
But I may be mis-remembering when it happened. -

How do any of you stay in past initial commitment is beyond me. The QoL alone is worth more than I can even justify in dollars. This is 100% accurate. Worth the read.

Was an interesting interview w/ Gov's Kasich (OH) and Hickenlooper (CO) about the coming election. I'm not sure we're going to see the fall of our party system, but the call out of the D's lack of a platform outside "not-Trump" is a problem.

Looks like the D memo got released. I'm sure it'll explain everything.
After initial read - much better than the first memo, though the target was different. Answered a lot of the questions I had about timing, which the R memo "just seemed" to overlook. I'm growing less and less enamored with the Party I've voted for, for over 20 years.

So, I'll just say that if it's as lined up as you say and not a burden I'd probably pull the trigger myself. I'm older now, and the idea of finding a home I actually like, where I want to live is becoming my #1 priority.
