  1. How long is this process taking these days...ie retired active duty to reserve last I heard was at least a year to process.
  2. Heres the word I got wrt non-continuation during a non-select. counseling. -No negative quality indicators didn't really matter, it was dependent this past year and next year on who is on the critical AFSC list. -Normally that lists includes pilots, this past year it only included 11F, 11H, and a couple other random ones, the person I spoke with was suprised not to see 11S on it this time around. -To reiterate she stated that they expect this to continue, thus we now have a de-facto up or out system, regardless of DOPMA(congressional rules) Rumint follows: the reason they extended the TERA option was that AFPC, more specifically leadership at AFPC, said that the worst thing they did to pilot retention was the 2011 cut and a certain GO said under his watch this wouldn't happen. If you are wondering what your chances for continuation etc. are, have your functional inquire into who is on the critical skills list. Bare in mind that individual functionals(at the Majcom) level can petition to add AFSCs to that list...I'm not sure how much it counts though.
  3. Has anyone tried the Retired to Active Duty Reserve Program in the last 6 months, specifically if anyone has any contacts at AFRC are they open to this for specific rated officers.... http://www.arpc.afrc.af.mil/library/factsheets/factsheet.asp?id=8597 Why would you do this...say you early retire at 15 years and the reserve flying gets you hours/reserve pay far outstrips your retirement over a month.
  4. Just a heads up, pass along from AFPC non-select brief. Anticipate that the non-continuation for passed over folks will continue in the future unless your AFSC is on the critical skill set list(hint this encompassed 11F, 11Hs, and a few others...) Additionally TERA authority exists through FY18...read between the lines...essentially up or out is back in play, regardless of DOPMA, if any of this sounds like a foreign language to you I'm glad...but it may effect you in the future. In the short term the days of passed over majors that fly the line till retirement are over.
  5. Anyone know if you can turn back in the remaining portion of your ACP(ie in year 5 and just paid but need to punch) read the regs and email in to the AFPC folks but looking to see if anyone's done this before.
