  1. Congrats on your slot brah. However I'd be very careful about applying when you have a slot. It can be a small community and you could royal fvck yourself if word got back to your original unit. But if your app was already in when you got hired by your first unit and you score an interview.. Well that's on you. Personally I wouldnt risk applying and ruining a good thing.   2. it's cool man, masshole feels entitled to fvck with you even though she is like one AS class ahead of you. But anyway our det had some awesome luck with rides. We never asked though. Our cadre set all of them up. It was timing and luck. Some cadets got herc and tanker rides and a few dudes got fighter rides. But for fighters they were upperclassman and had a chamber card, flight physical, and TS. They also had to do some traveling on their own dime. Work with your cadre to set something up for the whole det, I wouldn't go about setting it up by yourself. i got a ride in an eagle :/

  7. Rooster good call. I forgot all about that. The way the sportys ones worked was they were just DVDs so you can do whatever with them. But the set comes with a computer program and completion certificate. After you watch the DVDs you take a test on the computer and have to plug in the serial number like you said. Only works for one person.
  8. I would definitely take it before FT. I took mine at the end of the semester before I went to FT. Reason being is the whole 6 month interval thing between retakes. If you take it at the end of this semester, you will know your pcsm and have a good idea of how you want to go about flight hours when you get back from FT. Then you can retake it in december after you have a couple hours under your belt or whatever right before your cadre submits your shit in January. That's what I did, but people still get awesome scores without hours. As far as ground school goes I bought the sportys (or king air) ppl DVDs online when I graduated HS and got my ppl in the summer. I didn't do ground school since the DVDs are your ground school. They come with a syllabus that your CFI cooresponds your training flights with. Basically part 60 vs part 141 schools (or whatever it's been awhile and i forget. Pretty much the nearest flight school where they have formal class times and such was too far of a drive. The DVDs allow you to go at your own pace which is awesome if you are in college. I did the same thing with my instrument rating when I was a freshman in college. Sportys pilot shop online has the DVDs. They are a couple hundred bucks but in my mind worth it. I'm sure there is some disagreement on this but that is just my 2 cents.
  9. It all depends. You will get the biggest increase in points from about the first 5-10 hours. I personally would take the tbas in the near future ( rpa part seems to give people trouble and it's the only part you can actually study for, I made flash cards since I ######ed it up the first time) ,good info on wantscheck. If you have already taken the afoqt, the day you take the tbas your pcsm will be available. When you look it up it will have a chart telling you how many flight hours will increase you pcsm score by X amount of points. For example, I had over a hundred. I needed another hundred hours to gain one more pcsm point. I had a buddy with hardly any hours who need like 2 more to get 9 or 10 more pcsm points. Once you see your results you can get a better idea if you want to do the quality or quantity idea mentioned above. Sorry for the retardedness/unorganization... Typing on a phone
  10. Masshole, I take it your competing for your slot this semester? If they no kidding changed the selection criteria mentioned a few weeks ago, getting your first few flight hours will really boost your pcsm. And it looks like pcsm makes up the bulk of the OM score nowadays...
  11. Great source... But in case you didn't know IT IS A CONTACT SPORT! I do justify it, he plays hard with intensity. He is hitter and is getting condemned for it from people like yourself (who never played). He is doing what he is paid to do, and I really don't think he is out to put people in the hospital and end careers. But if you are trying to say, let's tell everyone in the NFL that they can "hit their opponents, just not too hard, because that not acceptable." Well, that's nonsense. When it comes to him "intentionally" breaking the rules, I don' think it is intentional. I would have a hard time believing that a competitor with the aggressiveness of Harrison is thinking about whether or not this hit will be "legal" the .25 seconds before it happens. I think he gets caught up in the intensity of the game because of his playmaker attitude. However, I do think he should just admit that he ######s up when he does have an illegal hit though. He doesn't and I think this brought on a lot of shit for him and really put him under the microscope. And agree with a lot of what danger said.

  14. So what happens if a unit looses it's mission before you get to upt? Does the guard bureau can your slot or do you go find another unit who will take you (and your slot)? Someone told me once you got your foot in the door and get selected by a unit, if something happens, you kind of have your foot in the door since you already got selected and have dates. Any truth in that?
  15. I'm in your shoes right now. I have been applying to guard units I am interested in. Yes you have to recompete just like anyone else, and I'll tell you that getting a guard slot is about 10 million times harder than scoring a slot of of ROTC.
  16. Does anyone have any info as to whether you can resubmit your pcsm score/gpa for enjjpt boards in ROTC? Basically becaus we submit our packages and find out if we get a SUPT slot well before the EN board meets. So in that time there is a another whole semester to bring up your gpa and get flight hours. If it's possible I want to resbmit my gpa and possibly retake the afoqt to get my pcsm maxed. As far as asking my cadre, we got a whole new staff and half of them are out of the office. If anyone has a experience with this I'd really appreciate it. Rico
  17. Got a question. Read this entire thread and some others but couldn't find the answer. I was at nellis talking to an aggressor dude who told me he was a guard dude. Also, talked to a dude in the test&eval at nellis who said he is a guard dude. So my question is how did these dudes pick up positions like that? According to the nellis site the 926th group is the only reserve unit on base and houses the 706th FS. So that could accont for the test&eval dude but what about the aggressor guy? Obviously these dudes aren't newbies and were prior AD guys, but is it common for experienced guard dudes to at AD squadrons where there are no guard units/associate units. I know the opposite is somewhat common.
