Heading to Whiting mid-April. Are they still allowing studs to live off base? Plan on getting a place lined up before I get out there, think its safe to do or should I just wait to get down there?

As a 2dLT, looking at all of these problems with the AF is kind of depressing to know that I have to deal with this BS in my career. Is there any hope of change? There's obviously a lot wrong with AF but what are some solutions to fix these? Where in your career do you have to be to start fixing these problems or are they only manageable when you have some stars on your shoulders?(Or by that time are you too out of it to even know whats going on?)

When my buddy 2 years ago was getting his FC1, he had like 10 cavities that had to get fixed before he could pass. They pretty much said fix these cavities, send us proof and your clear. He made a dentist appointment , got the cavities taken care of and sent it off and he was clear. As far as getting things done before hand. I went to the dentist before I had to go and dentist said I had 3 cavities to be fixed. I didn't get it fix right away I just waited for FC1 to see what they said. They said I had 0. By definition, what your dentist say is a cavity and what the FC1 considers a cavity could be different. These are just personal accounts and may not reflect how it'll work out for you. did you track 38s? How do you like the u-28, anything you can tell about the program so far?

are they typically wanted or competed for? or just a random selection? or the typical answer of it varies per AF needs?

How do you get picked up to fly one of these aircraft's?

typically, how far in advance will you know what squadron your in so you know which a/c to study for?

Has things improved sinced the T-6b hit the line or has it caused more problems with scheduling?

Wake up thread! I've read through this thread and I just want clarification on something. I live with a civilian roommate and I will be commissioning/PCSn to first duty assignment this May. We both signed the apartment lease, is it safe to assume he is going to get screwed and I am going to get out of it? Or slim chance the whole lease will be canceled?

Just to clarify, so IF my eyes have gotten worse before UPT, I would possibly just need better prescription glasses? -Thanks

Greetings, I was passed my FC1 physical last April. I will commission this May and will be doing the Gold Bar program for a year then off to UPT. I was cleared for my eyes in the FC1, with the exception I have to wear glasses. However, its either in my head that I now realize I can't see perfect, or my eyesight is getting worst. Will I be able to request PRK/LASIK once AD? Or, am I in the clear if I passed the FC1 and they just waive something? -Thanks
