I want to be a pilot (ideally fighters) in the Air Force or Navy. I’m currently entering my freshman year of college at a school that has AFROTC. Keep in mind, I was accepted to this school for spring semester this year, so if I do AFROTC I’ll start a semester behind most of my classmates (not sure if that changes anything). 
 

If I want to fly, should I join AFROTC when I get to school in January, or should I wait until after college and try to get a pilot slot through OTS/OCS? I wasn’t sure where my chances would be higher. I have a non-technical major, but I think I will do well in it.
