Anyone have any experience with a guard pilot going to PIT and doing a temporary assignment as an instructor at a upt base? Is it even a thing, and what avenues are there to make it happen? Thanks in advance.

If that’s what you want to do, get hired by a UPT Reserve squadron and go to USAFR. If you want to go back to your Guard unit in 4 years, see if they’ll take you back.  There’s no 1288-type process to go from a state asset to a federal asset.

So with the massive furloughs happening across the major airlines....is this an option?  I would love to have the opportunity to attend PIT and fly the T-6 at Del Rio. As a junior Major would I have a chance?  I don't know anyone that has gone from the ANG to PIT.
