Chiefs89
Hello all, As the title states, do you need any kind of medical certification with the FAA on the civilian side to fly military? I am trying to become either a pilot or navigator and want to know what's required. Also what level/ certifications of medicals are required for pilots/navs? Thanks in advance! nunya
No. The AF flying class 1 is harder than the FAA class 1. I think navs need a class 2. If you're applying to Guard/Reserve, you're going to need a FAA Class 3 to get your PPL, and a Class 1 might be helpful for the hiring board, but that'll vary by unit.
