November 1, 201213 yr OPM.gov. All Federal employees are the same, ie. 5% TSP matching. Its not 5%...I thought the same thing until recently being picked up for a GS position.... It takes 5% investment on the employee to hit the max 4% matching. The first 3% is matched dollar for dollar. The last 2% is matched at .5% each....
