Anyone know if Plantar Fasciitis is a DNIFing condition?

A few weeks ago I hurt my foot playing volleyball and ever since I've had a slight pain in my heel. It doesn't affect me on a daily basis, just when I try to run or do any physical activity that involves my feet. I'm planning on going to the Flight Doc, but I'm just wondering if there is any written guidance on this.

Are you sure it's plantar fasciitis? If so, stretch those calves-- it's generally something that you can fix on your own with regular stretching.

Here's the one that my physical trainer gave me that worked best for me... Do it as soon as you wake up in the morning since that's when you'll be feeling it the most. Also, do it routinely throughout the day or before physical activity.

1. Stand up straight

2. Place a binder or book underneath the balls of your feet so that your heels are still on the ground but the rest of your foot is elevated

3. Bend at the waist and try to touch your toes.

4. Hold the stretch for 20-30 seconds at a time.

Your goal is eventually to work up to putting a phonebook underneath your feet. You'll think this stretch is bullshit until you actually try it.

As for the DNF'ing... I dono what the Flight Doc will say! hah..

I'm curious, Did you talk to the flight doc yet? What did he say.
