Ever wonder what happens when you dump the cabin at over 250?

[The flightcrew reported that they depressurized the airplane after

noticing cracking of the airplane windshield. They then donned their

oxygen masks but were unable to obtain oxygen from the oxygen system

resulting in their loss of consciousness.

Do you mean if I put the mask on first and then do it, or just for shits and giggles do it and then try to get the mask on?

Sounds like fun. Lets do it!

is that procedure to emergency depressurize for a cracked windshield?

Straight from the manual, I had to go look myself.

Page 13 - BE20 (200/200C) Checklist

Pressurisation differential in red

Cabin altitude selector: Select higher setting

If condition persists:

Bleed air valves: Envir Off

Cabin pressure switch: Dump

Bleed air valves: Open

Cracked windshield

Outer panel: No action required

Inner panel: Descend or < 4 PSI differential in 10 mins.

Shades of Payne Stewart's LJ crash--always pre-flight oxygen.

What they didn't say was that it was the outer window. No action required. Note to self, before dumping the cabin, make sure the oxygen is flowing. There used to be a lot of windsheilds cracking but it was from taking the windshield heat to max without going to normal first.

Screw that king air stuff. Scroll further down on that page and check out the Beech Baron that had a mid-air over Tehachapi!

The Baron photos are INCREDIBLE!!!!!
