Yes it's the latter, non-T38 T6 FAIPS go from UPT T6s -> PIT -> FAIP tour -> straight to heavy FTU. No kind of T1 training exists for anyone anymore
And everything is still the same for T38-trained T6 FAIPs going to fighters. Since IFF is going away, new ones will do UPT T6s -> FBF (combined T38 UPT & IFF) -> T6 PIT -> T6 FAIP tour -> short T38 spinup -> B-Course
^ See my last, if you don't get a start date that's earlier than July / October you'll just have to do IPT. Gen Leard made an offhand comment during the above visit that "almost 100%" of FY2025 trainees will do IPT, and that maybe a few would "sneak in" on the legacy T6 syllabus.
My last about the pipeline comes from a buddy who met the General while he was on a tour in Mesa. Very little of what we know about IPT / FUPT / UPT 3.0 actually comes from official sources.
Hoping for the traditional T6 syllabus as well. Red leader standing by to fly cool jets before IPT direct FTU starts up
QUAG’s course shows S-V8I-PT (the ETCA code for IPT) which figures because he's going to CBM. The standard UPT 2.5 T6 course is coded to P-V4A-U.
This Thursday, the AETC A5/8 said END will begin sending all studs through the IPT pipeline starting this October (and that DLF will do the same starting in July). Because you already have your PPL, maybe you got lucky and snagged a spot in one of the final "legacy" T6 classes.
