  1. I'm at UPT now and honestly from what I've seen the track rates have been more or less normal (approx 5-7 per class). I've even heard of some classes that had more 38 slots than interested studs, so some people got non-vol'd.

If I were you, I'd take that AD slot if you end up getting it. Better to end up at UPT for sure and compete for a 38 slot against a handful of classmates rather than compete against 100's for a guard slot. Either way, good luck to you!

By and large, voter turnout is low because people don’t give a /don’t prioritize it. That’s it, it’s not cosmic or some political boogeyman. Ocasm’s razor and all that.

    - ID should be 100% required, every time. Subsidized state ID for those making $X or less, totally support it. I agree nobody should be barred from voting because they can’t afford an ID. But, that’s a red herring and barely a blip on the radar these days due to several factors

    - I also think we should establish voting days as either holidays or at least make a law that every employer must provide X hours of PTO to allow employees to go vote during the work day if they’re unable to before/after work (which really only applies to those working a 12+ hour shift). For those not working every min the polls are open, they can vote, but it’s a personal choice and not anyone else’s fault if they choose not to

    - Absentee ballots: YES. Mail-in ballots auto-sent to everyone: NO. If one doesn’t go the polls and also isn’t willing to put a few min of time into the absentee process because they know they won’t physically make it to the polls, then ‘em, they have made the choice to not vote

To address the incredibly politically slanted drivel you linked to:

    - Some states don’t have Election Day registration: Um, you had ing YEARS to get it done in most cases (e.g. an election cycle), and for those turning 18 the day of, well I’d support an exemption for them or just you miss out on that one vote in your entire life (life’s not completely fair snowflake). So this is a bullshit argument trying to distract from the fact people don’t care/are lazy and didn’t get something done in time.

    - “17 states have taken steps to increase the frequency of voter roll purges”: Sounds like 33 states are behind the ball on that one and need to catch up to these 17. Rolls are massive problems - I can legally vote in 3 states right now according to rolls, going on 10 years of trying to convince one SOS office I haven’t been a resident for that long. This is a massive problem enabling voter fraud. So not voter suppression, but rather 17 states are actually doing what every state should be doing, striving for the most updated/accurate voter rolls. To argue for inaccurate rolls (like this website) is full retard

    - Here’s a gem…”now prohibit mailing absentee ballot applications to voters who haven’t requested one.” This website calls that suppression, reality is it’s 100% your problem if you can’t take 2 min to request an absentee ballot; you don’t deserve to vote in this case. This is just highlighting how lazy/DGAF people are, not suppression.  Again, absolutely full retard on display by the authors of this website.

There’s more absolutely ridiculous, illogical bullshit on that site, but these were a few examples. Actually critically think about this subject. I listed a couple things that I think most people would be on board with doing. Listening to the insanely illogical and retarded gaslighting on that website (or from any source that spouts this drivel) only serves to erode our country by further destroying a fundamental part of our system.

Honestly it sounds like we agree on what I think are the 2 biggest issues. Voter ID laws won’t be controversial at all if low income people can qualify for gov subsidized IDs. And I also agree about Election Day at the very least having mandatory X amount of hours to go vote.

as far as mail in voting, until said Election Day rules are established than I think it’s something that should be available to those that can’t take off work.

For the same day voting registration, just saying that people shouldn’t be lazy isn’t really an argument against it. Assuming proper accountability is done of who is registered where and there has been an ID check, then who cares if it’s same day registration?

My whole opinion on it is that our main goal should be to have as many people vote as possible (of eligible voters)

How? It’s wildly unrestrictive as it is.

I think this article gives some good examples. To sum it up, our voter turnout is not great (somewhere around 60%). Sure some of that is people who don’t care but some of it is due to many states making it inconvenient to vote. Same day Voter registration, mail in ballots, early voting should all be options for legal voters. Not everyone has the option of showing up on Election Day.

Thank you!  Agreed.  Case in point:
Georgia - “Hey guys you need to show some valid ID to vote here now”

    Every Liberal (screaming) “That’s racist!!!!”

If I were a minority, I would be so offended by the notion that I was incapable of securing some valid form of ID for myself.  How do you tolerate, let alone vote for, politicians who constantly call you stupid?

I think both sides can compromise here if state IDs were just made free. I’d be all for voter ID in that case. If you’re going to require something for a basic right, shouldn’t have to pay for it. I know it’s a very small cost to all of us here, but none of my business to tell poor people what they can or can’t afford.

This is an internet message board used to exchange ideas / thoughts; let's not avoid the subject by trying to come up with a fully fleshed-out, 40000-page tax code that addresses all your nitpicks. I think my broader point is clear. There is a sizable portion of this country that provides no input into the coffers, yet is gaining an increasing share of political power and is able to exercise say over how money is directed. That is moral hazard, and should not be a thing.

If anything we need to make voting less restrictive. Whether someone “provides input” into the system in your opinion or not, they are still effected by that system and as an American should have a vote. Especially since the reason they may be unemployed could be due to shortcomings of said system.

echo what captain morgan said, campaign finance reform is a far more important issue to tackle

LOL. So Ridiculous. Why are you accusing anyone else of not being able to read?

Because it says "Humans Will Go Extinct if We Don’t Fix Climate Change by 2023" not "Humans Will Go Extinct by 2023 if We Don’t Fix Climate Change"

Yes it's definitely a clickbait title but its quite obvious (maybe not to some) what the article is saying.

It is not apples to oranges.  You have repeatedly stated all the big cities are run by democrats, that data (adjusted for population), clearly shows the rate of crime, especially violent crime is far higher when you live in an area controlled by democrats.  Interestingly the 2022 election results by county directly correlates to that data set.Screen Shot 2023-06-08 at 5.40.40 AM.png

I'm glad you bring up rate of crime, since it shows just how equally prevalent (if not more so) violent crime is in areas that vote red.

Interesting enough, your own source you cite ( Nashville, TN Is Among the Most Dangerous US Metro Areas ) lists dozens of republican run cities with far higher rates than Nashville. Sure Memphis is #1, but I lost count of the GOP run cities on that list not to mention Anchorage with a violent crime rate almost double that of Nashville.

Not even trying to blame it on Republicans, just pointing out that correlating crime rates to the political party that runs the city is a fallacy and a pointless argument.

Homos are 18Xs more likely to be pedos. The three predilections I lumped together, all deny reality and the design of humanity. To engage in any of that behavior is bad for the individual, the culture, and society as a whole. I know when it’s personal it’s more difficult to see the truth but that doesn’t change the facts.

People like you are exactly the reason we need pride month. There’s nothing wrong with being gay, it’s not a choice, and they are not pedos.

nevermind the fact that your “18x more likely” stat is completely made up, I’m sure you’re not as outspoken against pedos within the church- which is far more prevalent.

and I’d match that $100 on you most definitely having gay porn on your computer.

What about threats? Do those count or are you only allowed to act after someone has been hurt?

Individuals at the scene said he said ‘I don’t care. I’ll take a bullet, I’ll go to jail’ because he would kill people on the train," the woman said of Neely. "He said, ‘I would kill a motherf—er. I don’t care. I’ll take a bullet. I’ll go to jail.’"

So just wait for someone to get hurt and then act?

Bro? Who the are you? Some 2nd Lt waiting to start flight school?

And just as many witnesses said the man was no threat and just rambling nonsense.

My rank shouldn’t even matter, what a stupid thing to even bring up. Your opinion doesn’t matter anymore than mine just because you and everyone in this echo chamber are older

I’ll engage assuming you’re not being a troll.

So in order to defend yourself and others, you have to actually be struck? From what I’ve read from numerous sources, most agree that everyone around felt unsafe and that the criminal was acting unhinged and threateningly. it also appears from the videos I’ve seen is he was trying to control the criminal and not kill him.

From what i have seen and read, the most you could say is this was an unintended death resulting from him trying to restore order and control a mad man. If I’m on the grand jury the DA would have to show some serious intent for me to favor prosecuting.

If he verbally threatened the man I could maybe understand, but that never happened either. So yeah, you can’t just choke someone out because you feel uncomfortable, It’s a dangerous precedent. I can see arguing manslaughter vs murder, but him calling it self defense is a joke

Sadly the heroic marine is now being charged with second degree manslaughter for taking down the NYC subway criminal.

Holy shit you can’t just choke someone out for 15 minutes just because they’re being loud and obnoxious. Dude is anything but a hero claiming self defense when multiple eyewitness say he was never hit

Have any other selects been notified by MPF or FSS? My interpretation of the PDSM is that we should have gotten some sort of notification from them but no one in my wing has heard anything.

Also, do they take more than 1 person per squadron? Looking at the names lists for the past 2 years there aren't any repeated squadrons and so we've been wondering if there's a limit of only 1 person per sqdn. Out of our 4 sqdn applicants, only 2 of us got picked up, but the other guy moved from my sqdn to the OSS right around when the board was meeting and he shows on the selection PDSM as being a part of the OSS, not the squadron that we both were in when we applied.

I don’t think they notify us. My interpretation was that if we’re accepting the slot we don’t have to do anything and we’ll just have to wait for our MFS/IFT/PCS stuff.

Also don’t think there’s a limit per squadron. Looking at the PSDM there’s some people from the same that got picked up.

    Hopefully assignments come out soon!

Nothing in my CDB yet, but I completed an IFC1 at USAFSAM in the past.  From what I understand, they did all the MFS testing back then and I don't need to recomplete it.  My DD Form 2808 stamp also doesn't mention needing to complete MFS.

Same I did mine at wright pat back in 2016, don’t know if that’s too long ago and I’ll have to go back but nothing in my CDB now
