It is a NoGo supplement . I have taken care of critically ill soldiers in basic training that used Creatine supplements during basic. The dehydration that comes with intense training can cause kidney failure, rhabdomyolisis and death even in very young, very healthy recruits. The effects are potentially life threatening and muscle mass is not worth the risk.

Thank you all for the info. Following up on JavaDocF16’s post, are you saying creatine supplementation should be avoided all-together or just during periods of intense training? All the studies I’ve seen have indicated it is safe and effective for standard strength training, would be curious if you have any studies with evidence to the contrary. Thanks in advance.

  2. Hi all,

I did a deep dive on this forum and couldn’t find a solid answer to this question. I’m headed to Wright-Patt at the end of February for my FC1, will I have any issues with urinalysis, blood work, etc. if I am taking supplemental creatine?

    Thanks in advance.

Nah I applied but couldn't make it across the country to rush. I haven't heard anything from them so wondering if they were being more communicative with people that rushed and I'm just being ghosted or if I may still have a chance at an interview. Was it a generic mass email type TBNT or more personal?

I also got a TBNT yesterday, interview invites went out on the 7th. Best of luck, onto the next one.

My final piece of advice is regarding airframes, locations, and attitude: I get it, we all want to live/work somewhere nice.  However, I bristle whenever we’re interviewing some UPT hopeful and they go on and on about how much they love my state…blah, blah, blah, yet they’ve never been there before the interview or rolled through on their way to Disneyland once. Every state, every unit, and every mission has positives and negatives. It’s going to be up to you to decide what’s reasonable.

    Hey @O Face,

I‘ve got a couple applications in at units that are across the country from where I am currently. I’ve heard the advice that you should emphasize how much you love the area where you’re applying, talk about any friends/family connections in the area, etc… This approach has always seemed slightly disingenuous to me though, and it seems like you agree as someone who sits on the other side of the table. If I’m fortunate enough to interview at these units, I feel like the better approach is more along the lines of “Obviously I’m not from here, and I haven’t spent much time in this area, but I’m jazzed about the XXXX mission and the XXXX airframe, and it would be an honor to have the chance to move here if given the opportunity.”

Does this sound like a better approach to take? Thanks for your time.
