  1. First off I'd say relax air force careers always work themselves out. Going deeper yes CAF assets mainly fighters we are at a bigger disadvantage. There's a lot more boxes to check in fighters such as 2-shp/4-ship flight lead, ip, eval. Vs maf where its just going from the right to left seat as a AC. We are screwed for wic/CC but it's an age thing, didn't know there was an age limit for wic until I chatted with my wg/CC (patch and former F15c guy). If you do want airlines in the end maf would be better option as you gain hours 2-3x more than fighter guys doing "around the flag-pole" missions. Hours are a big thing airlines look at among other things. But in the end I'll say go to UPT with an open mind. Have a #1 choice for both maf and caf but that's it. The beauty of UPT is we don't need to decide until the end and who knows you might hate pulling Gs. And I have you beat, I just hit 7yrs and will be turning in my PRF during upt.
  2. There was a time where the AF was going to do the reverse and do less. At the height of the pandemic they stopped doss for all but UPT students. During that time they were considering making no doss permanent RPA students. Luckily they listened to us at Randolph and saw how poorly those students were doing and turned it back on.
  3. Just do a cost comparison worksheet and you should be good.
  4. The way I interpreted it and probably should have written it this way, capts have the "ability" to stay off base. Also depends on how full the dorms are.
  5. 45-60 days prior is pretty standard per AFPC. There's a lot more inprocressing to do at formal training bases than a normal pcs additionally there's some required tasks (observe events) that CB requires prior to start unless you're guard/reserve or have previous experience (previous white jet IP time, etc). All single students are required to stay on base unless you're a Capt or higher. I would say stay on base for the ease of convenience to everywhere you'll go. At least that's what I'm doing but I'll be in family housing.
  6. just get a simple one with your first and last name on it. Wear whatever current majcom you're in.
  7. Seems to be CB and VN is where most are going
  8. AFPC/DP2OR Workflow <afpc.dp2or.workflow@us.af.mil>
  9. Found my location through the EFMP trick, about 2hrs later I got an email from the orb box with my dates. They told me to email them last friday if I hadn't seen anything yet.
  10. Finally got my dates, even AFPC said they were probably going in alphabetical order but anyways 22 Dec Columbus start date. Don't know if anyone else has said they're in that one but if someone is hit me up and we can start a group chat or something.
  11. Fair point, forgot you'll pcs to upt after IFT, it was reverse when I went through so I got my name tags before going to IFT.
  12. Don't order any name tags, whatever base you go to will provide you with all applicable patches to include name tags. They'll reach out to you or when you get there you'll fill out a form with what name you want on it and any badges/wings you have. Only thing you could order if you want is some pen(pencil) tabs. I get mine from reaperpatches.com Flying squadrons are required to provide new members with all the normal patches. Usually the only stuff you pay for are pen tabs, Friday patches/name tags, or extra patches if you need them.
  13. Still waiting for location and dates. All I've gotten so far is my MFS date. Knowing my luck they're going in alphabetical order
