Anyone have any SA on how long it takes from FC1 complete for your unit to get your DD2808? FC1 complete 7 weeks ago and my unit still doesn’t have it.
Took me one week in February

Yes, my base training sent my approval letter to the NGB. She said it also gets sent internally at the NGB as well.

How long after NGB approval did y’all receive OTS/UPT dates?

The enthusiasm is great. But there are 200+ applicants to a fighter board with the same attitude. Ivy league graduates, lawyers, doctors, pilots with thousands of hours, and applicants in the unit all of whom have great scores. The likely only reason i got hired was because i was a crew chief in the unit, and had a PPL. A civilian without a PPL faces an extremely uphill battle. Again, not impossible. Even getting a UPT slot with AD is extremely difficult. Best of luck.

I agree with you but unfortunately thats just the way it is now days.

I have no idea what gaming PC's sell for but flight training will usually case $150 per hour. I got picked up in December, and i don't think anyone that interviewed did not have a PPL. Even at 99.99% of heavy units a PPL is a minimum even if not explicitly stated. Getting a PPL is crazy expensive ($6,000-$10,000), but realistically anymore getting an interview without one is very unlikely even with your great scores.

Getting a PPL at a minimum is pretty much required

You would. Meet the pilots, understand the jet, see the world, etc. Many benefits, but like above its not a guaranteed pilot spot. Work and hard, and make sure you enlist for the right reasons.

Get good grades and enlist in a guard fighter unit near you when you turn 17 as a crew chief. I would also get a PPL. Get somewhat good grades in college.

Thought I would pay it forward and give my FC1 experience the week of 7 Feb 2022.
Day 1:
- Blood Draw/Urinalysis
- Height, Weight, Sitting Height
- Near/Far Acuity
-Depth Perception
-Color Vision
- Eye scans/go over scans with optometrist
-Eye dilation/scans with eyes dilated
- Eye Pressure
- Vitals
- Hearing
- Reading about Test
- Medical History
- Dental x-rays/exam
Day 2:
- Flight doc Consult
- Neuro/Psych exam
Day 3:
- EKG
Day 4:
- All cleared to go home
Overall i had a really great experience at WP, and the docs and people are super great. There were 21 in my group most of which were ROTC. Some advice i would give is to visit the dentist before your visit because he is very particular, and will not sign off unless you get dental work done which some in my group had to do when they returned home. It easily could have been done in two days if not one so be prepared to spend lots of time sitting around. I don't know of anyone in my group who was disqualified, so try not to stress too much. If you have any questions feel free to PM me. Hope this helps.

I have had a pretty straight forward and seamless process thus far, so hopefully NGB approval does not take an eternity.

Anyone know if Whiteman AFB is allowing base visits before their upcoming A-10 board, or does anyone have any contacts there?

Can anyone confirm whether this is true or not? I had recently heard through the rumor mill that your best AFOQT scores (except pilot and nav) will be the ones that count after your second retake. Has anyone else heard this? Meaning if you scored a 50 on verbal your first test but a 30 your second the 50 will be the one that counts.
