Randolph UPT class starts 15 July.
-
Makes sense, Scott was the closest base to us. I guess they just do those physicals Whereever is most convenient.
-
I always thought they did CSO physicals at Scott? Thats where they sent CSO selects when I was in ROTC.
-
Not sure, I’m only a 2Lt, just got through my first year on AD.
-
Yep, two regular UPT classes will go through Randolph in 2020 to help with the backlog.
Idk how I got it, but I will not complain lol
-
Contacted assignments team, they’ve added 2 classes to JBSA Randolph to help with the backlog. Not PTN

MFS date stuck at 22 Jan, still showing 31 May to JBSA Randolph from CSS. Still unsure if its a placeholder or if Im going to PTN.
Was your assignments loaded onto vMPF or did you all find out from CSS?
-
Anybody else get training dates/bases besides IFS?
-
I have no idea, I just figured it was a placeholder.
-
Called CSS, Im on the loss roster. May 2020 for JBSA Randolph..... not 100% sure why that is, but thats what Ive got now. Im a pilot select with my PPL already.

It sounds like everyone has Jan MFS dates, except for me. For those of you going in Jan, are you all going to IFS?
It would make sense for them to send you guys there first to make an IFS class soon after.
I’m probably not going to IFS, Ive got my PPL already.

I'm also 22 Jan for MFS, so I'll see you there Bob. AFPC told me this date is still tentative for folks. Also, they will also be starting to load UPT dates once the 7 day period of accept/decline is up.
Those with a PPL have the option to get a waiver with 19th AF in order to attend IFS. Even though it's been a minute since being in the seat, I'm electing to not pursue one, as it will definitely delay UPT dates. Food for thought.
Nice! Where did you see the waiver for IFS?

Check your CDB, it looks like I just got MFS loaded onto mine as a projected training. 22 January.

Columbus has a massive maintenance issue due to a shitty contractor.
Also seeing Big Blue playing musical chairs with students being moved around when they transition from T6 to T1/T38

At least it wasn’t Midway. Probably would have ended up on Cicero.

Found out I was a select for ABM, not quite sure how to feel. I really was only going for CSO. Wondering if I can decline and hop on the alternate last for CSO? Not sure how it will work. Anyone have more insight?
I think any declination is for the entire board as well. This year you can decline any slot, and still be able to recompete next year. Best of luck.

I’ll just wait till Tuesday at this point, everyone took a 5-day weekend.
My stats are 88PCSM w/PPL, 98 pilot afoqt.
-
^^^^Agreed
But you know, if you do have the list, I’d like to check it.... for uhhh..... making sure its grammar is uhhh..... checked.

My commander and his exec are on leave today...... the anticipation train continues on! :,,,,,,,,(

I guess they realized they can have a larger pool of maybe decent candidates next year. Even then, ETP’s were give this year for people that had declined previously (i think somewhere on this thread it was talked about).
Last year there was 150 slots total (90Pilot, 20 RPA, 10 CSO, 30 ABM). Up until this year, it is the most combined CSO/ABM slots in the last 5 boards.

So we think that means 50 pilot slots?
Probs not looking at previous years stats. Last year it was 90 pilot, 20 RPA. The most its been in the last 5 boards was 31. If I was a betting man, Im saying 75 pilot, 25 RPA. Thats also based on one of the rated assignments guys telling me pilot slots are “slightly down.”
-
How would that work with my commander being geographically separated? My boss is at Wright-Patt, would they contact the FSS there, or the CSS at my base?
-
Portal just updated, commanders will know 7 November, public release 15 Nov

2020 Air Force Active Duty UPT Board
in Pilot Selection Process

Thats what I got when I asked the assignments guy for the board. From what I can tell, this is a pretty lowkey deal.
Not sure if anyone in the AFA/ROTC/OTS/AGR pipelines are going to Randolph. I know my buddy who is a senior in ROTC is still waiting to put in base preference till January.
