Same mentality man, though I already opted in. Yeah, if I do 20 I lose .5 percent, big whoop i have other investments and what not, If not picked up for active, guard and reserve and get it at normal retirement age anyway. I see myself working till I’m old anyway

Brutal man, but true. Easiest way to choose retirement plan is this, if you’re already considering it, you won’t do a full 20 even if you get picked up.

rumor has it a lot of current rated we’re selected this year, however functionals may not release the amount selected. I have started reaching out to reserve and guard units just in case

Not to be a realist or negative, however rank was only a small factor last year. it seems more your over all package is what they are truly looking for. Additionally three of you being 1/1 , with an application window extension is a small sample of a possible larger viewpoint of small amount of applicants across the Air Force. Additionally a rumor of larger amount of slots than this past spring could lead one to assume to think rank will not matter as much

Apply and try. If you want it doesn’t matter the odds. It is better to try then to wonder what could of been. If anything you are getting experience in applying and what you need to be competitive. risk it to get the biscuit

I understand that. I just don’t think he would be misleading and say he hasn’t received anything if he really did? Maybe the wing commander just hasn’t released it for some reason. I appreciate the insight though. Calms me down lol

When it mentions “Unit” commanders i assume that’s base commander? Because my squadron commander said he has received nothing hence why he reached out to the wing execs.

Ok the bros are 2 navs from a buff squadron in Guam. They are currently in the middle of an exercise and it’s already tomorrow their time. So that makes sense why they and their commanders know already. They’ll let me know more if they get anything else. Sorry doesn’t put our hearts at ease. At least we know the list is out

Im trying to pull more from the guys i heard that were told from their commanders such as how many slots were awarded for UPT. As soon as I know more I’ll post.
