It is possible, you just need to get hired by a squadron. As an army guy, you will have to go through UPT if you want to fly anything besides helos.

Just made the gold to silver transition this year. I did not have to go through again. The JPRA sets the Level C training standards, so the Navy and AF have to meet the same requirements.

You do not have to attend UPT. When you submit your paperwork to your Aeronautical Rating Board, you will have to sign paper acknowledging that you are requesting a "helicopter-only" aeronautical rating.

Check out the SECNAV inter service transfer instruction so you can transfer straight from active duty and not have a break in service. I would advise you to get the process started early. Interviewed with the 106th Rescue Wing about a year ago. I'm a Navy H-60 pilot going "Gold to Silver". The board was for rated helo pilots looking to transfer to the HH-60. The board was 4 pilots(2 O-5s, 1 O-4, 1 O-3) The questions I was asked you can probably find on this thread already. The biggest piece of advice I can give to folks is that the board notices the amount of effort you put in and how much you want to be at that unit. They interviewed 9 or 10 guys, but only 4 guys interviewed in person, the rest did a phone interview. 3 of the 4 in person applicants got picked(myself included). How you answer there questions is important, but they definitely also take notice of how you conduct yourself before the interview and can tell how much you want to be at that particular unit and not just an ANG pilot at whatever unit will take me. I might be an extreme example, but I flew in from Hawaii and that was the only place I applied to.
