  1. Not to hold our breath. They flat out said not to believe any of the dates we get from AFPC until we have our EAD orders in hand and start travel.
  2. Im a May '12 grad too. Thats exactly what our NCOs keep telling us.
  3. We have a guy at our det who came in this year as an academic junior. He's going to FT this summer with us AS200s and will be a senior next year. He's already got a CSO slot and hasnt even completed FT yet. So I guess it is possible. Probably on a case-by-case basis. Btw, he's not a prior-E.
  4. I cant really give you any foresight on your situation. Ive never heard of anyone in that position before. But as a current 200 I can definitely attest to the fact that EAs are hard to come by. Our APAS told us that AFROTC has about 400-500 more AS 200s than EAs to give out this year. So they're getting rid of anyone who doesnt meet standards just to get down to the right number. Just throwing this out there, but what about OTS. If they don't have an EA for you and dont make you enlist, I guess that option is there.
  5. I just heard the same. That's really too bad. Apparently, they have a few hundred more AS 200s than enrollment allocations. So, some guys aren't going to FT and have to bee disenrolled from the program. Really sucks. Good luck with OTS.
  6. Definitely doable. I'd simply contact the det at whatever school you're attending. You would have to get started fast because enrollment allocations for field training 2010 are getting ready to be done. The admin officer at the det will be able to get you up to speed on all details. As for the time constraint. Its not much. A 3-credit class, 1-hour lab and two PT sessions/week. Plenty of guys have jobs and Im sure you could work it in.
  7. Disclaimer - just an ROTC cadet with no real experience. But I noticed that a lot of new commissionees going into acqusitions have to first spend a tour in an ops related AFSC. My APAS at the det is an acqusitions officer who's first assignment was Mx school and then served as a regular Mx officer for a tour and is now officially a acquisitions officer. I think the program is called OpEx (operational experience?). But anyways, she said the reason for the program is specifically to ensure that those acqusitions types do have some knowledge of what the user needs.
  8. I dont think so. As long as its your only D and you have no Fs.
  9. Forgive me for just jumping in here. Ill say from the very beginning that Im just a ROTC cadet with NO first-hand knowledge of the matter. But, ive read and heard that the current fighters, like F-22 and F-35 could actually be more maneuverable but the presence of a human being onboard forces limitations. People have told me that the technology is there. These planes can have even higher performance, pulling more Gs and what not. Its just that a pilot, even with a G-suit, couldnt withstand it. Is that true?
  10. Dont worry about rankings of dets. Instead, itd be better to worry about rankings of schools and the education you get. As far as dets go, you should consider what youd rather have as far as size goes. Smaller dets offer a different experience from the larger ones.
  11. Thread bump Im currently a 100 with a three year scholarship. Ill be contracting next semester. When i was awarded my scholarship last year they said it was 15K/year towards tuition. Well this week while doing some recruiting stuff I noticed it says 18K/year. No one from the det has notified us and i was wondering if anyone knows anything about a raise. Will the people who've already been granted scholarships get a raise or does this extra 3K/year only apply to new freshman entering next year?
