  1. Wow, thanks SO much. You have given me more information than ANY of my contacts at my current installation. I had my PHA in January of this year, and everything was good. Does this mean if I can get my 2808 and 422 together I may be in luck? Also, I made a mistake. Recruiter said he can send the package to AFRC pending a schedule of FC1, BUT I don't actually have to have a date; however I do need this physical 100% before the package is submitted. Also...what is an RMU? sorry. I'm a dumb aircraft maintainer clearly not familiar with the appropriate acronyms! Sent from my XT1058 using Tapatalk
  2. So I am trying to get my package done for the NOV UFT board, which is due 2 Nov. I am currently a reservist and all I need to finish the submission is a commissioning physical. This physical is sufficient to apply to the board, as long as a wright patt fc-1 is scheduled (doesnt have to be complete) I completed my PEPP and the reserve medical squadron told me it will be 45-60 days to get it processed..so I went to the active duty hospital and managed to get a commissioning physical scheduled next week. My question would be will this physical be sufficient for the board? The hospital where I went is where the recruiter sends civilian applicants (if not meps).. The reason it will take the reserve people so long to process it is that they only have docs on weekends... Help me out here. Did I successfully speed up the process? Or am I doomed to wait for the June board... Sent from my XT1058 using Tapatalk
  3. I think people would try not to laugh. All units and UPT Grads I know say just to be professional, respectful, and find a balance so the board can get to know your personality. Good luck!
  4. Well I did worse than I thought on the academic stuff...but I don't think il retest unless I start getting skipped over during interviews. PILOT: 96 NAV: 73 ACAD APT: 49 VERBAL: 53 QUANT: 45 PCSM 83 , 86 with 80 hours (currently 69) 90 with 101 hours . I am hoping my 3.5 gpa and pcsm will help my chances. Took exactly 3 weeks to receive both.
  5. Awesome info! Thanks. I have taken the tbas so it will be interesting to see both. Well done with the test too! I can only hope to be as high as you, we will see.
  6. How long did it take? I took mine on the 17th, so 12 days ago. Im imagining it wont be scored until another two weeks from now.
  7. Hopefully your score increases, im hoping I wont have to retake. If I get scores around yours or even better I most likely wont retake in fears of doing worse. We will see what happens. I have my PPL with 64 hours currently. I fly about 4-6 hours a month, so come November time I should have around 100. I am aware of the speed of the TBAS, but due to me taking the AFOQT only 3 days before the TBAS I have to wait for that score first.. Which is lame, but I know the waiting game all too well. Im hoping for good enough scores to get myself in an interview, and hopefully present myself in a way that gives me at least two options for Airframe, but to be honest, il take what I can get! I need that Oprah meme. YOU GET AN APPLICATION PACKAGE , YOU GET AN APPLICATION PACKAGE, EVERYONE GETS AN APPLICATION PACKAGE!!!
  8. I have NOT talked to fighter units. Only heavies. Because of my location and my airframe as an avionics guy on heavies, I have grown to like the heavies mission. I like the crew aspect, and the large aircraft really appeal to me. I imagine fighters may be more competitive, hence the degree only preference. The recruiter I most recently spoke with informed me that the reserves haven't been filling the pilot slots they need to be due to being overly selective, and thus there will be many more unsponsored slots throughout this year and next. In fact, he informed me of a guy with 40s pretty much across the board who got an interview on a C-5. The climate for hiring in the reserves seems to be in a lot of our favors. I will note though that the guy with those 40s is current enlisted reserve, which I know helps a bit. Either way, this is the first time in a while in job searching that I have felt really confident. Only issue is if i bombed my AFOQT and TBAS which apparently are taking 3-4 weeks to score. :(
  9. Got it, well it wouldnt hurt talking to units if you can. Im not sure if you are prior service, but the units i have spoken to are all for me trying for the november board they are holding. (Grad date December 10) I havent touched bases with my officer accessions recruiter since taking my AFOQT (no scores yet), but I might see if I can get my way in to whatever board I can. is the 15 units preferred ? Because IIRC the regulation states final year of college (could be wrong, too lazy to look through regs tonight).
  10. Same situation, except I took it last Friday. Talked to the proctor and he did say they are backed up. Looks like 3-4 more weeks for my AFOQT and TBAS
  11. I believe it is your final year of college. 90/120 units~
  12. Hey everyone, Planning to apply at A KC-10 , C-17 OR C5 Flying squadrons. Currently enlisted reserve aircraft maintenance on the KC-10. I have a few questions to hopefully help me out in the next 12 months. Here's what I have got , 40 hours of flight instruction and all requirements met for private pilot (simply need to execute the check ride) 22 years old (23 at the end of the year) Current student with expected A.S. DEGREE and certification graduation in December in- A.S. Air traffic control including terminal, enroute , and Radar simulator experience A.S Aeronautics A.S. Aircraft dispatcher with FAA certificated dispatcher certificate Projected 4 bachelors graduation in July 2015 in Aeronautics at Embry Riddle Worldwide (approx 24 units remaining after transfer in December 2014) CCAF Completed Enlisted reserve member in good standing, BMT honor grad, mobilization ribbons, marksmen, etc..standard stuff. 5 years time in service as a Comm/Nav avionics technician Current 3.66 GPA (Expected to be higher or equal, no lower.) Very capable in flight planning, aviation weather, IFR procedures and instrument charts, etc Instrument ground school, commercial ground school, private pilot ground school completed (only private pilot written taken) Based on these, am I considered a competitive candidate? If not, suggestions to improve? Also, I spoke with a few pilots upstairs about applying for UPT and they recommended I come back sometime early next year, what is the actual earliest date to apply before graduation from a 4 year institution? (If that is at all possible, I read 270 days Before expected date of graduation?) Thanks so much for the help! Look forward to hearing suggestions.
