  1. I just finished up JMATS and am getting ready to head to Kirtland for MC-Js, Rumor has it that the school house is pretty backed up. Does anyone have any info on it or is it just a rumor?

  2. Does anyone know where (or have) a copy of the quality of air/particle letter that they gave us out there for our medical records?

  3. I was also told that I would make captain during the promotion board even though I only had 2 training reports to my name and being in the MAF for only four months before the board met. Imagine my surprise when I was in Afghanistan and found out I got passed over. Until I see this I am going to keep working on correspondence until I am told to stop or see this in a regulation somewhere and not from the some source being a poorly quoted Air Force News article

  4. One more: what the f*ck is a SURF?

Basically it’s your military resume, it tells you everything you have done (PME, where you graduated and with what degree, jobs you had in the squadron, medals you have received, any additional languages, flight hours etc)

  5. I don't think the GI bill covers flight fees.... Maybe your ground testing but not your flight fees. Why do you want to go to Embry Riddle? Even the world wide campus is very expensive, so if you want to go there make sure you are going for the right reasons and because you think it will give you the best shot at flying. I went there for one semester a dropped 15k. I decided to go to a state school and didn't even spend that much on the remainder of the 3.5 years. Another thing to think about is some states will give you free tuition if you are in the guard. (I know New York and Florida does this). If you want to go to Embry Riddle because you feel you will get the best education? Then go for it, I'm not trying to talk you out of it but rather just giving you my experience. I got my PPL right out of high school and stopped there because I knew if I got a pilot slot the Air Force would pay for the rest, so I took a gamble on that and it paid off, and that saved me a shit ton of money and at the same time got some of the best training in the world. My 2 cents.

So in your case, unless someone wanted to (wink-wink) say your rater changed somewhere in there and they "forgot" to update it in MILPDS and "forgot" to write your OPR, then you don't get a report. Basically, this would look really fishy to a supplemental board.

But I rater did change, I came to my squadron with one commander, then in Jan. I got a new one.... so from what I under stand this would qualify. Right?

  7. 36-2406 is the OPR/EPR reg. If you have a TR from a course greater than 20 weeks (initial qual at LR falls in this category), then your initial OPR is not due until 1 year after the grad date on the TR.

Thanks for the reg! That's what my squadron did. What I am thinking is, if I can back date an OPR to meet the 120 day requirement. Will this be enough to file an appeal and win. Since as it stands, I only have two training reports.
