  1. Check your PM

There's CAPRAP. You serve as a Cat E reservist in the PIRR, attend CAP (Civil Air Patrol) events and provide mentoring to cadets and squadrons. You're generally assigned to one squadron. This is only for Air Force reservists, though. You can then also do ADLS courses for additional points when you're in the PIRR.

All (I think) of the FEMA courses will get you points, too.

  2. Can we see the lease?

There a tenant's advocate groups in every state. Google and dial.

I agree w/Beaver, you need to find out who the owner is. You don't need to talk to her, you just need to know who she is.

The less you talk the better. The best thing you can do is simply say you have 1) a legal lease in place and 2) the protection of the SCRA which prohibits the landlords eviction action.

You have the keys, the lease, a copy of the SCRA, time basis the laws that describe the timeline for eviction.

Get informed. Be right. Talk as little as possible. Agree to nothing other than the facts at hand.

He's right. We've been through this ourselves with a lease and took all the paperwork to the JAG. The JAG looked at it and said under SCRA we were covered. Landlord backed down after lawyer was involved. Would also get the SQ/CC in the loop just to make sure you have his/her support if needed (like a phone call to the owners CC).

    Best of luck.

  3. Wow... so here is the solution to this act of "stupidy" and "investigation"

Maybe we should stop all fire and police runs in the city as well? The sirens might scare someone.

    :flipoff:

Not insensitive to the events just tired of everyone needing a "hug" and being told they're special.

    '

Oh ya and this isn't a new concept we have flown over the city for numerious "Photo Ops" both pre and post 9/11.

  4. And we wonder why it is so hard to gain credibility in our field... No means NO! You only asked the question in two threads and were told "NO" in both

The only thing your Nav time is good for is if you can find a company who fly's with Nav's... By the way there aren't any! In fact if you call your local F.S.D.O office they will tell you that they don't even issue the certificate anymore.

If I'm a passenger on a 737 can I log the time.. :banghead:

  5. Might want to brush up on proofreading as well ;) Just bustin your balls...

For the dude asking the questions, feel free to PM me with specific questions. If you want an info dump I'd say read this thread and some of the others discussing nav/CSO related topics. As the other guys said, if your orders say Randolph, you will not be flying the B-1 or F-15E, that's just how it goes. There are plenty of awesome options out of RND though, so look forward to the opportunities you're going to have.

:bash: Ya...Ya... Guess I forgot my crutch...MS spell check!

  6. Don't waste your free time trying to "get ahead". Enjoy the time you have before you get there and stay focused. I watched a lot of folks while I was there get wrapped up on going to Austin or the lake. Those were the folks that came in before a sim or a fight wanting to "barrow" the work of those that were working to get through the program.

The only suggestions I would have is brush up on Base 60 math. Maybe find someone with a whiz-wheel and practice. There used to be a packet floating around that one of the -130 guys but together that covered everything on using the whiz-wheel. I'll look and PM it to you if I can find it in my stuff.

  7. This is a great idea for a fund raiser. If it is a good design that is advertised (on this site and others) you will definately have some buyers. I would pay my $7.50 plus shipping... The total number of flight hours since '57 would be impressive. You can get Sheppards current fleet hours from MX. As for historical data AF wide I don't know. Who ran the T-37 Depot? They might have the records.

Give me a few days and I'll see if I can find it out for you... I know the AF data system that keeps track of all the information let me see what I can get.

JRope send me a PM with your global email address.

  8. Do you mean looking like a laughingstock because we wear blues one day a week or because we're a bunch of whining prima donnas who bitch about wearing blues one day a week?

SO.... BuddhaSixFour. What is your job, again? Did you say UAV game player or was that Exec of a UAV squadron. :rainbow:

As the rest of the bag wearers have said on this thread it is stupid and meaningless. If I walk into scheds and find out that another bro fell out for something and I have to take his line what am I supposed to do? Run home and change or maybe I can roll my bag up and stuff it in my gym bag with my "PT Gear" and reflective belt.

:bash: We will comply with the policy. But we will do it the Ops way.

  9. Here is the Raider 21 crew list.

Of those that I have not spoken about:

Maj Brent "B-dub" Williams, I didn't know him very well but I can say that he was squared away. He showed up to the 96th just prior to them deploying and took over as the interim CC. He lead a tight ship but made sure that life was fun. He will be truly missed.

Capt. Mike "Bull" Dodson, I don't even know where to begin. This guy was solid, he started his career as a C-130 nav out of Pope and then found his way here to the BUFF. Probably one of the best Co-pilots I have ever flown with. He had his shit squared away and was always striving to do more and to do it better. I can't say enough for how much I appreciate the knowledge and the influence he had on me, he pushed me to go for my dreams and then helped me to achieve them. There's not many better that I have ever shared a beer with and he was always the first to buy and the last to quit. A true hero in my book and one of Americas finest patriots.

Lt. Josh "Shaman" Shepherd, one of my favorites. As a new guy to the squadron he couldn't wait to get started, he was passionate about his job and even more passionate to solidify the friendship of his new family. In the jet he shined as a nav and it wasn't long before he found his way in to the scheduling shop. His desk was the first as you walk in the door and he always greeted you with a smile. His optimism, work ethic, and unwilingness to do the job half assed held this shop of "old" dudes together. He was the guy you could always count on no matter the task. I know that sounds cliche, but that is no shit how he was, no sacrifice was to much for him. The hardest part is knowing that he has a newborn that will never really know him and a 5 year old that will miss him for the rest of his life.

There is so much more that I could say about these fine patriots and maybe one day I will. A huge part of my family has been taken and can never be replaced. I do pray that one day we meet again and that there will be a cold one waiting. Life will and must go on with out you all but I assure you that you will not be forgotten.

Does anyone know what classes "Shaman" and Rob Gerren were in at Randolph?

    Godspeed. Him Him :beer::beer:

  10. It wasn't long ago that a FedEx DC10 lost an engine (nacelle and all) over Arkansas. I've had buddies that have worked for FedEx in the past. Definitely a shady operation.

So... Who is a shady operation? FedEx?

This is a Kalitta 747, not FedEx. Back in the day when Connie was operating Dc-8s yes things were real shady! A bunch of us who worked for another DC-8 operator would drive up from Dayton to go make some extra $$ doing MX Checks for him... There was a lot of questionable stuff on those tails. However, after Connie sold the company and then eventually bought it back a few years later things had changed for the better. All the Dc-8s are gone and he is strictly flying 747s with much much better Mx. Not saying there aren't still a few questionable things.... but then again this is aviation and there are always things going on that are questionable.
