  1.  We had a lot of personnelists spend many hours to make sure our pilots are paid the correct amount via the bonus.  Very exciting that it finally happened.  Pilots, wherever you are at, please thank a personnelist.  That small gesture will make a world of difference.

Thanks for the shit show. Now watch it continue when targeted $35k bonuses fail miserably.

  2. UFB. Answer is in front of their face and they refuse to see it. This is why I hate the Air Force sometimes. I'm an open volunteer (and I'm not the only one!) but because I'm an MC-12 dude...no dice. I don't get it.

Sorry bro, that sucks. But you should be aware of how the AF got itself in this bind in the first place. No amount of MC-12 bubbas is going to fix shit.
  3. How do you plan on collecting?

Easy, we split the cost today and store it in a safety deposit box. Whomever is on their death bed first, most likely Hacker cause he's old balls, will either get to enjoy it for a win or watch the other one enjoy it for a crushing defeat, pending the status of high alt RPA capes vs. U-2 capes. I will savor the inevitable victory so I'll share with Hacker since I expect he will be miserable for betting on RPAs (not to mention he's about to die) and I will also waive the debt for his half (which would be with interest, of course, since we're taking this so literal).

  4. You should probably spend some time with some knowledgeable tactics and/or intel folks at your unit. They might be able to straighten out a few of your misperceptions. Do us all a favor and do that in a vault or SCIF and keep it off an internet forum please. Thanks.

  5. And to answer a standard follow on question, the -4 doesn't have sensor parity with the U2 yet but when it does it will clearly surpass the U2 in capability and the spooks can ride into the sunset having served faithfully.  I only hope they will let me take joy rides in the -38s and Dodge Chargers before they get rid of them or send them to the bored -35 pilots.

There's about 0% chance of either of those things happening, but keep being optimistic.

  6. Hopefully it's different for other communities.

I was able to get myself to/from the AOR multiple times despite the system (in & out-processing, rotator schedule, etc) holding me back. More efficiently as well, but then again I was a singleton. Dealing with larger units takes a little more coordination. Problem is the one-size fits all, lowest common denominator mentality has made the mobility job a bitch.

It doesn't have to be so hard.

  7. Maybe I'm just the luckiest pilot ever to go through SOS, but I gotta say fellas, if this is the experience we've been raging against for so long, maybe we really have lost touch. I wouldn't have turned SOS down three times if I knew it was like this.

Sounds about 180 out from my experience in that shithole. But glad to hear things are much improved for you. Seriously. Although I'm jaded to the point that I'm not sure things will change AF-wide for the better. But I'm willing to suspend disbelief, and check out your work. Keep it up.

  8. No really, the product was below average (generally) once in the USAF system.  Don't get me wrong, good dudes and all but we aren't the Navy.

I was never an FTU or UPT IP so I'll defer to those with the first hand knowledge & experience. But I did go through Whiting and thought I did OK at the FTU...and also may have been a tad defensive.

    Dunning-Kruger I guess.
