  1. I currently have a Palace Chase application in the works and my ADSC expires in 7 months. I have been hired by a unit that is located at my current duty station. I need to move out of the house I am renting and into the house that I bought before any of this will be finalized. Is there anyway I can get he AF to pay for my move instead of having to do it on my own dime? They will only give separation orders 30-45 days out and without orders TMO won't do anything. I considered trying a full DITY and claiming it after the fact but if the weight ticket dates are before the orders it won't be reimbursed. I have asked about using my "Home of Record" move but again TMO says that is only supposed to be used for getting into the AF not out of the AF. Any ideas would be appreciated.
  2. I missed that when i was looking over the bio. You are 100% correct
  3. I would personally like to see a complete change from how the system works in that you are evaluated on your complete job performance (flying +queep + officership). It would be great to see boards do away with "school selects" at the Maj board. If everyone continued to compete for a school slot during your eligible years then i think the system would better select the right people to vector for in-residence IDE. The caveat to this is that school slots are allocated to each year group and that IDE CANNOT be completed in-correspondance until after you are out of your three "looks". This would reward people that continue to excel at their primary job throughout the entire eligibility time period. Obviously as a "candidate" I may be biased in this thought but I see a lot of "selects" that peak early and somewhat coast. If Liquid is correct in that "candidate" slots will completely dry up for the next 3-4 years, I think the perceived level of satisfaction that the majority of people will have with Big Blue will continue to spiral. I get it that we are under tough financial times but cutting career advancement requirements like in-res PME is the wrong way to go. Now if we change the system to where "done" is "done" (in-res vs correspondance) are the same then we may be better off all together. Look at Gen Welsh's bio...he didnt go to PME in residence once...but that was a different day.
  4. Liquid, GC, or anyone else in the know... I have heard some discussion of IDE/SDE in-residence being almost cut all together for non-selects (ie: candidates) this year and additionally for the foreseeable future. Does this check with what others have been hearing? As a CAF guy, if big blue isn't providing advancement opportunities how are they going to expect pilots to stick around past their UPT commitment regardless of the bonus $ being offered? No school usually takes you out of the running for advancement opportunities therefore making you prime for the less than ideal 365's. What have others been hearing across all of the MAJCOM's? Is it true that non-select is going to mean no school in residence?
