  1. Yes, it is based on RDTM, and thus, on airframe. All of the 11R overage could be in one airframe, we don't know. But isn't it great how they don't tell you that, and make you show your cards even if there is no chance at all for approval? I kind of just hoped that in FY14 they just didn't get around to approving 07 and 08 11Rs or they wanted to push it to the next FY. Who knows? It's all smoke and mirrors at AFPC.

  2. I'm an 11R, with 5 years left on my ADSC. I was denied for VSP in FY14, we'll see about FY15. Just wondering what my prospects are for PC if I don't get VSP. Assuming I will need to wait until 2/3 of my ADSC are done, right? My base is the only one with my airframe (JSTARS). How often are guard/reserve units willing to retrain to a new airframe? Thanks.

  3. I did my VSP on Firefox with a CAC reader at home (on Linux, for that matter!). I think I had more issues with the vMPF Separations app on IE at work. It's a finicky site, either way. The new Portal also has issues.

Mine is also at BPO. I also had the wrong core ID (11K), and had my functional change it. AFPC said it could take up to 48 hours for the change to show up in vMPF, and they said go ahead and submit it with a note saying it had been changed. I did, and included a copy of their email. Hope it goes through!

Still preparing myself to be let down, but I am starting to feel optimistic...

  4. Still zero success applying. vMPF won't display the screen. For the last several days, I only get the error messages on vMPF as a warning, then when I proceed to Self Service Actions, Voluntary Sep, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Also, I am working on my letters to the board(s). Who exactly do I send that/those to?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

FWIW, I am a 2004 11S; applying anyway because.. well you know why.

Does this seem to be a server problem? There have been a lot of issues with the Separations part of the vMPF. When I had issues, just hitting refresh a few times eventually worked, or else logging out, closing all the windows, and reopening the site.

For letters to the board, check PSDM 13-130. Pretty sure it even has the address to send it to.

  5. HOT****Just got off the phone with total force service again. Finally got some helpful info. She said that if you are eligible for the RIF than 13-130 is the ONLY PSDM that applies to you. 14-08 is only for those not eligible. 13-130 has no such statement about referencing 13-65 for ADSC waivers. It's back on! Now how do I find good health insurance under obamacare? Wife is pregnant and due after separation.

It would appear this might be correct. Upon closer reading of 13-130 there's this:

    3. RIF-eligible officers submit VSP program applications via the vMPF IAW the VSP

    application instructions below.

I think we all just assumed 14-08 applied to RIF eligible, but maybe not?

    Also, 13-130 says:

Recoupment of unearned portions of education assistance funds, special pay, bonuses, or

other monetary incentives WILL NOT occur for officers selected for separation.

But it is not clear if it is only talking about involuntary separation or either one. Has anyone heard a clear answer? I'm specifically wondering about TA.
