  2. It's b/c we didn't send in Doug Master's...christ he took on an entire Middle Eastern country and got out with out a scratch. Just give him the old Hades and he'll take care of India.

Interesting that the author of the article confused the Navy with the AF...you'd think he'd get his story straight. It's a minor thing, but still makes you wonder just how legit this article is.

"United States Air Force counterparts in exercises last year on F-15 Tomcats"

  3. so a buddy of mine constantly has irritated eyes it looks like and so i asked him about it. he has what he calls permanent conjunctivitis....he tried explaining this to me and said that he's got little bumps on the inside of his eye lids that get irritated and cause him to have red eyes all the time.

any of you guys here of this? this contagious like normal conjunctivitis? will it dq him from applying for upt?

  4. you'll get 2 bases under your belt if you just do your 4 years.

if you come to usafe, not sure about pacaf, your deros is 2 years from the day you left the states to hop on the plane to fly over. if you don't go to your tech school or asbc prior to coming over, they'll send you once you're here and tough luck but that will still count as part of your two years.

they try to send you to tech school and asbc prior to coming over, but that sometimes doesn't work. i had to go back for asbc. while you're here though, you can extend to stay longer.

  5. yes, there will be less of them. it's a cycle, happens all the time. they don't look at your major when they give out pilot slots....i'd suggest getting a major that you'll get a great gpa with. if you're an engineer and don't get picked up for pilot, then you're most likely going engineering in the AF.

What AFSC's are you talking about? The list for officer's really isn't that bad. Sure you laugh at the guys that got cops, abm, engineering or a space/missiles, but all the rest of them are decent and will carry over into the civilian world where you'll make a fortune.

It's the needs of the AF and what your det/cc says about you is what you'll get if you don't go pilot. Mine recommended me for mx, and guess what i'm doing?

  6. i was seriously looking into it when i was in school but decided they weren't for me....two many downsides. i've got a roommate that's a platoon leader in the marines and loves it. if you're trying to fly, it's an easy way to go to pilot training. changing rotc's shouldn't be a problem.

before you do anything though, sit down with the marines and make sure they'll take you on, then talk to the AF. if you're not on scholarship with the AF, more than likely you won't be with the marines either so you'll have to go through the PLC (platoon leaders course) which is run through the recruiters if i'm not mistaken. you can still do AF rotc if you want while you're PLC...i wouldn't recommend that though, try and do marine rotc too.

if it works out, have fun at OCS and TBS...

  7. Alone by itself, you're probably right, it doesn't matter. But there has been a lot of stuff talked about on this site and it doesn't take a genius to compile all the info together to help whatever group the guy who is looking for this info is working for. I'm guessing they would like to collect whatever they could. They may like to know the cost of fuel, b/c maybe it'd be a smarter move for a terrorist group to bomb our fuel depots rather than a civilian building. It would drive the cost up as well as limit our capabilities.

My point is, alone by themselves, the things mentioned on this site are relatively insignificant. When you put them all together though, in the bigger picture of things...they may be a bit more important.

And no offense to NSFW, but just b/c he's been on this site for a long time doesn't mean he's not spy. It doesn't mean I'm not a spy, nor you, nor Toro, or anybody else who frequents this site.

  8. Rocker, you probably need to grow a mustache before you can really pull them off...think Magnum P.I.

RWaller52, I've found that most wire frame glasses are comfortable b/c they fit well under the headset, aren't bulky, and will conform to your grape. As for the lenses, well thats just soemthing you're going to have to find that suits you.
